Everyone is undefeated in July. Don’t buy the hype.

Still trying to make your points the hard way? Coach Saban benched Jalen Milroe against South Florida, and he never took a snap. His inconsistency frustrated Coach Saban all season.

His inconsistency under Deboer was far greater. His TD numbers plummeted and interceptions skyrocketed.

It's like trying to discuss degrees of pregnancy with a reluctant father.

Deboer wanted to play Jalen and Jalen regressed.

End of story

Everyone looks good in training camp. I think Ewers will be out of the league in 2 or 3 years, but he looks like an All-Pro in training camp:

He looks like a Hall of Famer against air. Wait till he gets a taste of an NFL pass rush. He had zero pocket awareness at Alabama.

Careful... you're using actual knowledge of how the sport works. That will draw some ire here.

The thing with Jalen is confidence

Confidence and the ability to read a defense. It's not an easy thing to do.

*IF* he can develop both, with his arm strength and legs, he could be a REALLY special NFL prospect.

That's still a big IF though.

A video of another touch pass by Ewers. Imagine that. Too bad he cant rip it in there.

Him and Hurts are two of the few Bama kids I respected

They were a combined 4-0 as starters at Alabama vs LSU. Hard not to respect that .

Meanwhile he got bent by an average Michigan team the next year.

Michigan was a very talented team. They had 7 players drafted, the same number as Alabama and LSU. More over, three of the first thirteen picks were from Michigan. They beat national champ Ohio State. Michigan struggled with consistency because of a whole new staff and first time head coach. They would have beaten the brakes off of Auburn.

Meanwhile, Auburn didn’t even qualify for a bowl game.

Short to medium distance, he can rip it in there. Medium-long to long passes, it is a crap shoot. That is why he won't have an NFL career of any substance.

That lost 5 games against the toughest matchups.

His upside is Lamar Jackson. He legitimately has that kind of talent.

The issue, much like with Jalen Hurts, was that he was trying to learn on the job and his current level of play wasn’t sufficient for the SEC.

You can’t have a long term development guy trying to figure it out on the field against UGA while you’re trying to compete for championships.

But with Jalen Hurts you saw after sitting a year behind Tua and working with a top tier QB coach it’s always possible that the light will come on and everything can change.

Just a reminder that even with a current NFL QB and the third highest rated SEC QB last season Auburn only managed to go 11-14 with him under Hugh Freeze’ coaching.

Auburn lost 7.

Cal
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Georgia
Missouri
Vanderbilt
Alabama

You got lucky against Texas A&M. Auburn should have gone 4-8.

Instead of worrying about Deboer you should be worrying about Freeze.

FIFY. He didn't do much quarterbacking against us.

1. Take snap

2. Run to the edge

3. Run 50+ yards to the end zone

I wish him success and hope he figures it out in the NFL. Unfortunately, the guy was Jekyll and Hyde while at Alabama. Maybe it was because Alabama didn't have good QB coaches and he just needs to get with the right coach. But the common demoninator with his success and failure was if the defense allowed him to run and pass, he'd kill them. If the defense stopped him from running and made him process the defense through progressions, he failed.
