The jury is still out for me, but I will say if he even shows moderate improvement at passing overall and can greatly improve mid-range accuracy I feel good about it.
I'm sure this is an alter but if not pump the brakes a bit, pal.

I’d be nervous too, you’re going from the GOAT to a guy with a girl’s name.
Watching BAMA-dominant Kirby all these years will do that to a person.

So, last year it was just Saban holding him back?

How did that 2nd half vs the Viles look close up? Jalen on the loose is a dangerous weapon.

Milroe will break Alabama single season passing records this year. Most yardage, most completions, most TD passes and also most interceptions.

How did it look? Pretty much the same as any halfway decent QB did against the Vols defense last year. Through the course of the season, teams averaged just under 5 yards per play against UT last year. QBs averaged 65% completion rates against them, and Milroe was right at that average last year against them. As a rusher...he had 9 carries for 3 yards. He looked nothing more than average against UT.

So what you're saying is it could have been a lot worse than 27 to 0. We'll try to do better next Oct.

100yds on 3-9 passing? I’m super excited for that.

Just try to imagine Bryant Denny Stadium, on a Nov. 4th Saturday Night. Try to imagine a BAMA QB named Jalen Milroe, running up and down the field for 4 quarters, just running and throwing the ole pigskin for 42 points and Coach Saban takes the mercy knee early in the 4th quarter.
Then try to remember the LSU backup QB coming in for a wounded Heisman winner and doing absolutely nothing for an entire quarter of gridiron chaos. The same now starting QB who won't have 2 first-round draft picks at receiver this season who he did nothing within the unfriendly confines of Bryant Denny Stadium.
Just try to imagine all that ancient history as you reminisce about spring practice.

I just hope he can find and hit receivers in stride rather than they nearly always have to adjust to the ball, read the defense, and not panic.
For all the supposed potential I keep hearing about, he’s still a project.

You're literally the one who brought up the spring game:

Had BAMA been able to hire Grubbs away from Washington last season it would have been an offense set up for Jalen's skillset from the get-go. The spring game was a picture of what's coming and it will be different.
He was 3/9 for 100 yards, 2 rushes for 8 yards.

Let me apologize on behalf of all my Crimson Brethren. It's all this damn winning that's got us so confused.

Let me remind you, you hired a coach who has won the vast majority of his games at the NAIA level. And he has a girl’s name. Kirby fixin’ to eat and, deep down, you know it’s true.

He’s not that good. He benefited from playing on a roster that was stacked and coached by Nick Saban.
You and I didn't watch the same games. He only benefited on learning how to get tackled in the pocket, or scrambling for his life as a result of an O-line which was porous as hell and a snapper who set a season record for the worst snaps at Alabama.
I would have thought you, an LSU fan, would recognize this trait from last season.

He is not a good runners goes down very easy.
