Ed Orgeron, 65, briefly missed at least two LSU preseason practices, including a crucial weekend scrimmage, in August due to an unspecified illness.
"He wasn't feeling real well. We sent him home. We expect him to be back soon," the Tigers' head honcho said.
Orgeron returned afterward and resumed his duties. No specific diagnosis has been publicly reported.
As much as we joke around here, this sounds a little bit more serious and I thought maybe coach could use our well-wishes and prayers.
Hope he has gotten better over the past few weeks, and continues to improve.

Hope it’s not a Mike leach situation

I thought he was closer to 70.

He made a comment later in the presser that made it sound like Coach O fell out at practice. Hopefully he bounces back. Heat strokes are no joke right now.

He hasn't been in good health for a few weeks. I've heard heart issues. Hopefully he improves.

Wishing Ed a speedy recovery. That boy is a piece of work by any standard.

LSU had 3 legendary coaches in a row. Ironically the worst one had the most memorable team.

Orgeron is one of the last of the coaches that actually represents the people that support his team. I miss when the game was ultra regional. Hope he gets better

I'm guessing that regardless of team affiliation, most of us here can empathize with having a lifelong passion, and how aging can affect one's ability to pursue that (or anything, really), and what it might feel like to suddenly face that reality.
Sounds like a tough situation.

Hope he’s ok. Hate that he wont be in Oxford this weekend

He looked healthy at his son's wedding in July and even on the practice field thereafter. Hope Coach O recovers quickly.
