JABA is a crap QB and crap OL and expecting a winning combo. The PTB are really that dumb.

This particular transfer of offensive coaching and personnel from a smaller school just hasn't worked out. Whereas something similar worked out for Indiana.

Only 1 or 2 more years and we will be better or have someone else.

The scheme is fine. The interior OL is horrendous and QB is lower 3rd of the conference. He could move up slightly if he would stop throwing interceptions. But outside of protecting the ball he’s not gonna improve he’s in his 5th year in the same system. You but the 2 guards and center from last season team on this squad and we probably average about 38 a game on the season.

Well correction we could if the defense would get off the field. Hard to score when you’re on the sidelines.

Maybe, or maybe not. Brown is not going to be the best QB in the league, and agree that the OL is far from where it needs to be. That said, with a late November hire, I don't think it's fair to judge Comrade Golesh based on '26 alone. He definitely needs to show strong progress by next year though.

It's pretty much the same story with every coach in college football. They have to hire a large group of mercs to fill out their roster every year, now. The days of "we need three to five years to develop our team" are over.

He'll get time, though. I'm not sold on this kink of spread scheme anymore than I was Gus or Hugh. If it continues to flop, I hope we'll simplify things for a change.

BB has to be more of a run threat. He's a dual-threat QB shoved into a pocket-passer mold. His throwing motion alone, negates him being a pocket-passer. I've already lost count of how many batted down balls he's had. Pass protection has been hit and miss, but a lot of his sacks are due to him holding the ball too long. He just doesn't seem to have the ability to recognize that the pass play called is covered up, and now is the time to use his legs. I watched the QB from across the State continually burn USC that way, last night.

It really is a shame a kid has come this far and no one has taught him proper throwing mechanics. It’s one thing when you’re in high school and can simply out athlete your competition, but eventually you have to be able to step up and deliver a pass without the goofy arse throwing motion.

He’s better than the last two we had and I think is a good step in the right direction. We lost a lot and just need to filling the needs correctly.

QB, OL, DL, and DB.

Interesting take. Personally IDGAF if his throwing motion “looks goofy” or unorthodox.

Arch Manning has some unorthodox throwing motion despite having a family of quarterback coaches that conduct annual passing camps attended by thousands of hs qbs from across the country. Somehow nobody seems to mind that he continues to win.

If you were to put BB behind even an average OL he would be the talk of the town …. but he will never see that at Auburn during his CFB career.

Will our next QB see even an average OL at Auburn? That’s something I have wished for for the last 6 years … but it has not happened.

This checks out.

You are more focused on the OL year over year than any other position by a longshot. I dont even think you care about the other positions.

Respectfully, I’m more focused on the OL because it has been , by far, our biggest deficiency for many years.

We’ve been consistently good at recruiting solid skill position players, as evidenced by the numerous players that have departed and shown success with other programs (e.g. Bo Nix and a long list of others.)

Our OL has been a root cause deficiency that impacts skill position production and their resulting recruitment/ retention. And our OL (unlike our DL) has been in the bottom 20% of the SEC for many years.

And the SEC is a line of scrimmage league for as long as I can remember.

Nobody does except for the fact that it limits his ability to execute plays.

He still holds the ball too long, the commentator for the game Saturday mentioned it on the interception, guy was open, window closes, and he threw it behind him.

I recall Peyton Manning talking about his first series as a pro. He comes off the field and the OC said "Peyton did you see Johnny across the middle". Peyton said yeah I saw him the DB was all over him". The OC said "in the NFL we call that OPEN".

That QB from Vandy is gonna be a good one, he threw a couple of long ones and dropped it right in the pickle barrel. One of them I saw Pleasant just turn around and shake his head as if to say "I cant cover him any better than that".

Randall Cunningham had the same throwing motion and he played in the league for 16 years, three of them as an all pro. Its his head not his arm.

Chizik's O-line was the last great one that we had. I don't know if that was Chizik's doing, the O-line coach or someone doing recruiting, but sure would like to see it happen again.

Gus didn't pay much attention after that. Harsin ignored the O-line. And Freeze gave it scant attention. There is a reason that Greg Robinson was the #2 draft pick. We need that again.

I’ve been saying for years to throw the checkbook at Jeff Grimes to come back. He was signing 5* OTs every year.

Weve got our work cut out for us the next 2-3 years. Hopefully we’ll upgrade our talent this offseason with golesh having a whole year to evaluate and recruit.
