I’ve mentally accepted Lanning might go but seems like tide fans are split 50/50 on him.

Thoughts ? Seems like DeBoer has a better track record as a head coach other than SEC connection. I guess that’s big though for this job. Sark seems locked in at Texas and Kiffin seems like too much of a head case for boosters to rally behind.

Unproven as a head coach. It’s a reach, but he could be good.

I don’t want that fricker at Alabama!

I think it would be a good hire. It's high risk but so is everybody after Saban

Recruiting and NIL stay mostly in tact. Potential to be great and a fairly low floor

He’s the perfect hire after Saban. High risk but could be high reward.

He could be Kirby or he could be Sumlin

Imho, it's Dabo, Kiffin, then Lanning. But, you know Saban is not leaving the keys to the kingdom to a loser. If it's Lanning then Saban knows he will be great.

He's dumb as a rock if he takes this job.

To go from Nick Saban to a guy who couldn't win the Pac-12 is an absolute dream as an Auburn fan.

Lanning lost to that garbage Washington Huskie defense TWICE this year.
I thought Oregon was supposed to be an offensive juggernaut.
Huskie D looked like a bunch of Pop Warner kids against Michigan.

There's no guarantees, but he's had Oregon looking good, recruits well and spent time with both Saban and Kirby. He's as good of a bet as any others.
Kiffen wouldn't be bad, but I think he's burned a few too many bridges in T-town.

What's the sample size for Lanning?
Posted on 1/10/24 at 7:35 pm to Bird_Hunter
He’d be a fool to leave Oregon. He’s got a good thing going, Oregon can pay whatever they want to keep him. Why put that in jeopardy to live in the shadow of Nick Saban?

BamaScoop was one of the very first trolls to sign up here to talk shite about hiring Saban before tSECr was even a thing. It’s he’s not a Bama fan then the word has no meaning.

22-5 at Oregon with Bo Nix as his QB.
Two Top 7 recruiting classes the last two cycles (#4 and #7).
Coached under Saban and Kirby.

Yet he hasn't requested access to post on the Alabama board.
Ever.
Name a LSU fan that exclusively posts here with zero posts on the Tiger Rant besides WillyT.

Oregon went 22-6 in the two seasons before he arrived. He is 0-3 against Washington and got boatraced by Georgia. His biggest win is over Liberty.
