I've finally realized it was the REC who murdered Buford Pusser

“Ran up an embankment” my arse – “ran up an embankment” and "accidentally killed in a car wreck" just like Logan "fell up some stairs with a salad" and conked his head at the top of the stairs causing blood to shoot around into various rooms of the house that had the doors shut. i.e., that shite never happened.
Just like that so-called video of Pat Dye staggering aimlessly on a golf course late in life, or supposedly kidnapping an old man and holding him for ransom in a dungeon. All damn lies. REC propaganda. SEC propaganda!
Buford was murdered.
Buford was fighting to keep the cartels at bay, south of the McNairy County border. Border control had given way to bribes and basic cowardice. The Drive By Truckers have chronicled many of these occurrences and they are to be commended as the true historians they are.
Using many of the skills he had learned while fighting off all manner of American enemies as a United States Marine, much of it classified, Buford walked tall and sent untold numbers of REC cartel jawbones, shattered blood spattered shards, flying southward toward the cartel land they’d come from after a swing by old Buford.
To the delight of all of America, except cartel-controlled Alabama.
Logan was Buford’s “Deepthroat” – a mild mannered food distributor by day, Logan tracked the cartel at night as the Gumps flew in drugs from Columbia, sliding their Cessnas behind other aircraft, behind the exhaust, to hide themselves from air traffic control radar while trafficking the white powder into Alabama, so as to pollute the population above the border, into McNairy County.
Just like the Opium Wars and the Satanic British empire. Drug them and conquer them.
Buford had also received moral support and friendship from a concerned Pat Dye, a good Georgia boy who had become sickened by the debauchery he’d begun to witness in his adopted new state. Pat and Logan worked tirelessly – on their own time, away from their regular jobs, behind the scenes – to provide tips to Buford on the comings and goings of the cartel, south of the border of McNairy County (There were even whispers of northern Buford Pusser fundraisers, money flowing in from concerned New Englanders and New Yorkers, at the behest of true patriot Ray Perkins and attended secretly by Ray Perkins, as Ray spoke in hushed tones to the philanthropists about the need to defeat the loquacious and murderous cadre of banshees - the cowards - across the border).
But just as Satan had won Hong Kong for the British, Buford was taken out along a quiet roadside one fateful night, and McNairy County was left exposed to the scoundrels and hyenas across the state line. The Stateline Mafia. Satan had won another battle on this earth.
God will win the war.
"Watch out for Buford! He's shutting down our stills and whores"
Herman Frisco is not responsible for this and shall not be touched.

The first movie with Joe Don Baker was the best by far.

Take, for instance, Faith Serafin’s account of southeast Alabama, in her book Wicked Phenix City. Serafin details one of the most vice-riven cities in America, in which corrupt local sheriffs and deputies regularly extorted local businesses, aided prostitution, and in some cases murdered their political opponents in cold blood. At seedy joints such as the Silver Slipper, the Hi-Lo Club, the Blue Goose, and the granddaddy of them all, the BAMA Club, local capos kept a firm hand in the till, relying on beatings, bombings, kidnappings, and murder in order to keep control of the town.

Thank you sir for your participation in uncovering these crimes

Has anyone looked into whether or not PUSSER refused to talk to Darius Miles?

Two down votes?
Looks like some of those Bama folks would rather you not bring up that seedy period in their history.

Someone needs to remake the Phenix City Story from the 50's.It would be a perfect fit for Quentin Tarantino.

The movie and accounts were blown way out of proportion for the selling of books. "Sin City" was only two blocks. If you look deep in to the history you will find the names of prominent families in Columbus, Georgia that aided an abetted and made millions across that bridge. Some even have buildings in Athens named after them.
I am fully aware the author lives in Alabama and works in Columbus and in to ghost, haunting, etc.

LOL that information can be found on books online. Watch the movie American Made that is based on the drug smuggling in Mena, Arkansas.
