I’ll add this…Monken was one of the best this conference has ever seen. He was playing chess and DCs were playing checkers. I don’t know if you would ever be able to replace Monken and they weren’t going to be able to pay him enough to keep him

Of course you would. Because you are a fan ... same as me.

Not dealing with Saban every day. Its different in that position.

Be objective for just a second. Put the Hero Worship to the side. Just listening to Saban wears me the frick out. The guy is a pain in the arse. In 90% of real life scenarios ?

Nick Saban gets told to go frick himself.

OP is right. Georgia should fire Kirby.

In fact, do it tonight.

I'm surprised we've made it two pages without this being brought up instead. Yes Monken mattered, but our 2023 offense was just as good and this year seems fine if Gunner & the RBs don't all get injured.

I'm much more concerned about our lack of pass rush - our natty Dlines inhaled guys, our last few have constantly struggled to get pressure. It seems like our best DL are constantly injured & our edge rushers are all 5 star busts.

It's a real problem, we consistently get cooked by good QBs because of it. We lost on Justus Terry & the other guys have all seemed good at best. Nobody's elite anymore.

Meh. I get it. But that GA team with Carter and such I'd say wasn't as much a Rush the Passer D-Line as they were a Side to Side D-Line. And at that ? The best front three I've ever seen. Laterallly.

Football constantly evolves. I am positive we are in a state, right now, where defenses lack behind on something that used to be basic. Pressure.

First team to go back to a 4-3, or 4-2, or anything that involves four down linemen wins. I'm positive of it. A base nickel would cure the trick to most offenses now.

Yeah, those D-lines on the UGA title teams (along with the linebackers and secondary if we are being honest, just not to the same level as the line) were absolute monsters. They were a reinforced brick fricking wall in the run game and beat the piss out of opposing QBs in the pass rush.

Monsters.

How many teams would trade their coach for Kirby right now, with or without Monken?
Every single fricking one of them.

Let them attempt to troll.

Wasn't Monken, it was Stetson. He was the exact right guy at the exact right moment... We run Auburn out of the stadium with stet.

True. Very happy with Will Stein. But Kirby Smart, like Ryan Day, and Curt Cignetti and others, are just proven.

You should be. I didn't think much of the hire at the time but when I saw the talent he was pulling into the OL thru the portal it made me take notice.

Kirby Smart is consistently one of the most elite coaches in college football.

As for the playoffs, no coach on earth could have called a play to prevent the insane scrambles that Chambliss pulled off to win last year’s Sugar Bowl playoff.

To answer your question, Chambliss just turned 24 in the last month or so.

Kirby is the 2 best HC in college FB. He knows you win with defense and no turnovers that’s how he built his program. In this age of the portal and NIL things are changing fast because equality is here and you better be able to adjust .NS wouldn’t be able to maintain depth in today’s game, and his hard arse personality these players would tell him by by the second a $$$$ offer came.Money has changed the college sport forever and not for the better.Administrations are going to have to reevaluate what a successful coach is or it’s going to be revolving doors at alot of schools because of portal and NIL has made it almost impossible to maintain consistancy.
