I truly believe that Sexton told Saban he had to let him be an analyst for a year while Sexton figured out where to get him hired next.
All the previous "analysts" were damaged goods with an elite/very good skillset : Locksley as talent evaluator, Sarkisian and Kiffin as offensive minds, Freeze would have been as an offensive mind, Werner as a QB guru.
Butch has nothing.

Tennessee fans have had a lot of low points over the last decade, but I can’t imagine it getting much lower than seeing videos/photos of Butch Jones smoking a celebratory cigar after the Vols lose to Alabama for the 12th straight year.
That would be like Auburn trotting out Shula in 2007 and have him wave his thumbs in the air.
