Yeah anytime players can't play for the cold that's an issue. If you hold out participants for nothing then it's not a real championship

With that said- 2020 Bama was kicking the shite out of everyone in 2020. To me they were robbed of what should have been one of the greatest seasons ever. Now all I can think about is how Ohio State had all those missing Dlineman for "covid"

I really enjoyed seeing a recent national title winner finishing multiple games under .500, but I'm not sure who this reminds me

The only thing that would have changed if NC State and Vandy has played their second game, is the Dawgs getting home with the trophy one day sooner.

Ole Miss
State
Vanderbilt
Florida
South Carolina
has won title since LSU.
How does it feel to be an after thought?

All of those combined = 7 nattys

LSU by itself = 6 nattys

I mean sure they were missing Tyreke Smith (2022 5th Round Pick) and Tommy Togiai (2021 4th Round Pick) but Bama won 52-24. By virtue of playing significantly more games, Bama was missing Remington Winner Landon Dickerson, Jaylen Waddle was maaaybe 60%, and Devonta Smith left the 1st series of the 3rd quarter with 200 yards and 3 tds

I’m comfortable calling them an all-time great team.

You won't have to worry about LSU competing for any sort of title in any sport worth a shite for quite a while.

At least we're relevant and contending in most sports, not just football like you Skoal Drool Gumpneck Things.

Since the pandemic, LSU:

•Hasn’t had a winning record in football

•Hasn’t finished a season in basketball ranked nor made it past the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

•Hasnt made it to the College World Series

Every other team in the SEC except Missouri can lay claim to at least one of these

Something just doesn’t sit right seeing teams win it all against teams with undermanned rosters or incomplete seasons. Hell State had to win one because the best team got disqualified.

You're full of shite. In the 2021 CWS State beat the #2 national seed twice and the #4 national seed twice. In 2022, OM beat zero national seeds, just the #14 seed once. State had a MUCH tougher CWS schedule. OM is actually the first baseball NC to not beat a Top 8 seed in the CWS. They beat everyone they faced, though, so they earned it.

#7 national seed State beat #4 Vandy 13-2 and 9-0 to win it all, no damn way was unseeded NC State a better team than MSU or playing better.

Don't let him trigger you so easily.

People that know baseball know everything you just said without saying it. He is stupid and obviously knows nothing about the sport, let him be. He will just spout out some other nonsense.

Me too but it feels like there's the "yeah but" attached to them.

I think is disingenuous to say that crowds play zero factor snd there were obviously players that didn't play.

The game was altered in every way in 2020 and that never gave us a true glimpse of what that 2020 Bama team was like under the same pressure that every other team has faced the past 40 years.

They were great and I think they were an all time team but I'll always wonder if Mac could have engineered a game winning drive on the road in the SEC with 95k on they're feet and the ground shaking.

We'll never know because it's simply a fact that he never faced a hostile crowd. He whipped arse in essentially a camp setting.

Also losing players to playing injuries is one thing that everyone has to deal with every year. 2020 was the only year we held players out for a respiratory virus.

I mean Devonta won the heisman. You really think Devonta is better than Jamar Chase?

Right there you could make an argument that the best player in the country didn't play because of Covid.

Or how Clemson only lost one game and it was when Trevor Lawrence was out for Covid. ThG changes seeding

Sorry, that changes everything.

Sure but we can go by the games that were actually played. Bama played a decent Notre Dame squad in the semis. Let’s say Clemson beats Notre Dame in the initial matchup since Lawrence played. Bama likely plays Texas A&M (who they beat 52-24 earlier in the year) in the Semis

On the opposite side, Ohio State spit roasted a Lawrence led Clemson team 49-21. That Ohio State team missing 2 starting D-Linemen then got blasted by a Bama team that was also shorthanded

Bama is far from the first Playoff champion to play an underwhelming team in the semis and a good team in the finals

It’s foolish to act like 2020 was a normal year. But given how the 2021 Bama rookies performed in the NFL and that Bama ran train through an All-SEC schedule plus Notre Dame and Ohio State on neutral fields, it’s safe to say that they would have been a buzz saw any year

And yes I am biased

Miami was #6 seed.
USM was #11 seed.
Auburn was #14 seed.

Nice try, but wrong...Melt more.

ETA: We won with a full slate of teams - can you say the same?

I've seen great teams lose games they shouldn't because of hostile crowds.

Sorry but we'll never know.

2020 Bama will get mentioned with the greats but there's always going to the be * beside it

I think it's incredibly unfair to them but it's reality

Only talking about the CWS because lots of teams can get to the CWS without beating a top 8 national seed. By definition a top 8 seed won't face another Top 8 until the CWS.

Even though the NCAA recently expanded to 16 seeds, only the Top 8 seeds have historically been called "national seeds".

What is different is that every single national champion beat a Top 8 seed DURING the CWS until OM in 2022.

Who cares if an unseeded NC State team who went 2-1 in the CWS was taken out because of Covid? In the 2021 CWS State beat #2 Texas twice and #4 Vandy twice. Beat #4 Vandy 13-2 and 9-0. State had no reason to fear unseeded NC State and likely would have also beaten them easily.

I'm not really comparing CWS schedules vs OM or other NC. OM earned theirs by beating everyone they faced. I imagine over the years many champs have beaten more than #2 and #4 like State did.

But when OM fans try to act like unseeded 2-1 NC State being taken out reduces State's championship in any way, I rebut with the fact that OM had the easiest CWS schedule ever.

I agree!Alabama is the only team to have to play 10 SEC games in a row, with no OOC cupcakes, and still average 50 points a game.

Texas was the 2nd best team in 2021.
