Well said. This is the unfortunate side of the lunatic fringe of the Alabama fanbase. Entitled and obssessed to the point that anything but perfection and a national title is completely unacceptable. This element of our fanbase can't even enjoy any of the games and "the process" because they just want to get the game won and over with and are deathly afraid of a slip up along the way.
I've always felt that this is what Saban means when he talks about "enjoying the process". To me it's a veiled shot/message to fans to cheer/enjoy the actual games and not treat the games the way I just described where fans are more interested in getting the games over with and won rather than actually enjoying them.

While I personally think Bama has more than it's fair share, EVERY major program has them. Notre Dame fans used to be the worst, but a decade of crap football has tempered them.
Granted, it's fun to be an avid fan, but at the end of the day, it's still a game.
The OP sounds like a teenaged girl Beatles fan who thought her life was over when Lennon shacked up with Yoko Ono.
Ona side note, I always loved that Red Ryder song. Someone should make a video with that song playing, and show pathetic fans doing stupid shite across the country.

I was watching the 100 greatest 1 hit wonders of the 90s one day and they were showing Tom Cochrane's song "Life is a Highway" and they talked about how he was the lead singer for Red Rider. I never made the connection because I was about 6 when Lunatic Fringe came out. It seems like classic rock stations play that song more now than they did then. I was just a little kid so maybe I just don't remember it being played on AM/FM radio at the time.

I have to admit, I've had losses linger with me a few days, but X may be having some tougher times. I feel for him, but SEC football is a zero-sum equation - for somebody to win, somebody has to lose.
We had to take so much $hit from Bama for so many years, I also admit, it feels really, really good to see them deal with it.

Not to knock Bama, but my experience has been that they seem to have a larger radical fringe than other teams. I've pondered why this might be, and I have no answer.
