I feel like we’d probably beat Bethune Cookman and Sacramento State.

UGA played extremely well and State had a combination of missing McPherson in Game 1 and its offense having probably its two worst games of the year in Games 2 and 3 (credit to UGA pitching, though).

Georgia has like 7 guys with 10+ homers.
How many of those were to right field at Foley Field? (314 feet)

Simple fact of the matter is Georgia played winning baseball against us. We did not necessarily play poorly but GA got the timely hits, played solid defense and pitched it better than we did.
Baseball can humble you in a hurry and we were flying high coming into last Thursday. By Saturday afternoon we had been grounded.
In the long run, I think we will benefit from this weekend. Lesson learned even though it was painful.

Alex Box Stadium
Field size Foul lines: 330 ft
Power alleys: 365 ft
Center: 405 ft
Foley Field:
LF: 350 ft (106.7 m)
LC: 370 ft (112.8 m)
CF: 404 ft (123.1 m)
RC: 365 ft (111.3 m)
RF: 314 ft (95.7 m)
Looks to me like Foley is similar to Alex Box. Deeper in Left by 20 feet shorter in right by 16 feet. How many of LSU's HRs are to left field? Do none of you ever check things before you post, or do you just regurgitate what others say on the Rant?

State is a CWS contender. UGA just out played them.
Let's talk about LSU. Were they just overrated coming into the season?

Is anyone from LSU in a position to talk about being overrated this season
If anyone can get a pass for a year that's been sh!t.... it's a team that's won a natty 2 out of the last 4yrs.
Unlike the aggies.

I've followed GA baseball for quite some time being in ATL area and been to Foley quite a few times and Foley is VERY friendly to going to right field. 314' is extremely short at the foul pole and that "365'" RC is way more center than power alley when you look at it on map:
The right field power alley at Foley is around 350'-355' or so when you compare it to other power alleys (central point between foul pole and CF) at other fields (typical power alley around 365ish most fields).
Notice how the 370' left center is actually power alley/more centerpoint of foul pole/center field area compared to where the 365 RC is measured by comparison way up more towards center field?
It's really not debatable that right field is power hitter friendly at Foley. Thats just the way it is when your foul pole is 314' and power alley around 350 that way, just much shorter than most parks.
It's not any indictment on UGA or anything, just how the park is designed. LSU just went to TN and hit 11 home runs in their smaller park (and we hit 0 in 1 of the 3 games). Ball also flies a little further (not a huge amount) at higher elevations like in Athens or Knoxvile vs. sea level.

So Georgia only hits homeruns to right field at home?

Both will be Top 8 National Seeds in June

Yes thats exactly what I said
ETA I merely am pointing out right field at Foley is definitely much easier to hit home runs in that most parks, that's it. I'm not saying anything else beyond that. Just a fact it's easier to hit home runs to one side of the field when the foul pole is 10-20 feet shorter than most part and the power alley is also 10-15 feet shorter as well. Combine that with Athens also being at decent elevation (800') it will help the ball fly just a little bit farther than sea level (about 4-5' maybe on HR distance stuff).
UGA has hit 1 home run in their last 3 games at Hoover (SECT), Hoover is simply a massive park compared to most though with 340' foul poles, 385' power alleys and 405' to dead center. It's a power suck for any team that goes there in reality though. All these are pointing out are facts, it's easier to hit home runs in smaller dimension parks vs. larger dimension parks as well as other factors (like elevation). Nothing should be groundbreaking here

No doubt. No argument there. But typically that is an advantage to left handed hitters, right? It is easier to pull the ball down the right field line than it it to go to opposite field. Our left field line, however, is significantly farther than Alex Box, giving right handed hitters the advantage at Alex Box.
The population is 10.6% Left handed, so Alex Box would be a significant advantage to right handed hitters, (89.4% of the population)

I never did, nor would i make that argument. My argument is that the right field line would be advantageous to much fewer players than the Alex Box shorter left field line.

I have heard this argument made think it is reasonable.
I just think it is silly for LSU fans to act like Foley is such a huge advantage to Georgia when it would only be an advantage to a much smaller number of players. When you add that the other team gets to play on the same field I'm not sure that it is some huge advantage in a game...as LSU proved at Tennessee. Yes, the Tennessee ballpark may be small but the visiting team enjoys that same advantage.
Charlie Condon is probably Georgia's most prolific power hitter recently and he was right handed.
This year Daniel Jackson leads the team and bats right handed.
Tre Phelps is second in homeruns and also bats right handed.
Kolby Branch is 3rd and bats right handed.
So, our top 3 home run hitters bat right handed.
Obviously it would be better if I knew where to find where the majority of home runs were hit, but I just don't know where to find that information, nor do I have the time. Maybe someone on here knows where it is kept? But, I would be willing to bet that more LSU hitters take advantage of the Alex Box left field fence than Georgia players hitting home runs to right field. I don't watch a ton of Georgia baseball, but when I do get a chance most of the homeruns go to left center field. (I should say I have seen some going out in right field, too, though.)
