he absolutely should win it every single year. Don't act like it's not impressive that he keeps a program at the top every single year despite losing half his staff each season and a huge chunk of his players to the pros. It's absolutely unprecedented the continued dominance year in and year out. And he's not slowing down even a little, and he's not going to retire either. He's gonna die coaching, cause what else is he gonna do?

I actually agree with this, mainly because Saban has changed the paradigm by being at the top so often that just handing the award out to the best/most successful coach is no longer viable. It would just become too predictable.

But I would also argue that this has been a historic season by any standard. Even by Saban standards. I can see giving him the COY for this season.

Saban lost 12 players to the draft. He has a whole new staff as well. New coordinators on both sides of the ball and all new position coaches.

He has his best team yet.

Tua, Kyler Murray, and Q. Williams have been the best players in football all year.

Tua and Q will are locks for POY.

Saban should win, but the award is rigged against him.
