There really are no weaknesses on this team and should win every game easily. But I do think the 2011 defense was better.

ETA: I was really impressed with Tagovailoa's arm strength. He may have the strongest arm in the league. Bama can't lose!!!

2011 Bama beats this Alabama team 35-0.

(btw 2017 Bama has passed for less yards than 2017 LSU)

Bama looked good, but beatable against both Florida State and Texas A&M... the two best teams you've played so far this year.

Florida State with starting QB is still a top 15 team (imagine AU without Stidham and starting a true FR...similar drop I'd imagine). A&M is currently in the top 25 of the coaches poll.

LSU should be ranked when Bama plays them. They'll fall, but maybe by season end they'll get back in top 25. AU should be ranked when Bama plays them, and so too will UGA.

By season end Bama will have played about 6 ranked teams and, hopefully, the #4 and #2 or 3 team to end the season.

If AU is in top 15 after UGA then Bama will potentially close with a top 15 and 3 top 4 teams. That would remove any doubt.

Either way, the 2017 Bama team can't play against the schedule of the 2011 team, so just compare this team to other teams playing this year.

I feel like last season's team was better so far. The 2016 defense rivaled the 2011 defense.

Is this the greatest Alabama team of all time

No.

OL isn't dominant. No push, poor pass blocking.

Undependable STs at PK and returns to the extent that they should always go for it on 4th and rush 11 with no return man.

QB is a threat, but can't stretch the field and is frustrating his WRs.

The D, if healthy, would have had an argument for best D. LBs and pass rush would have been incredible. It's still VERY good, but it would have been elite.

Still, it's hands down the best team in SEC. If they play UGA, it will be a true test if Hurts can't pass and O is one sided.

Will struggle in playoffs with any team that has explosive offense and stout run D with decent coverage.

When you have 4 star backing up 5 star backing up 5 star, it doesn't matter whom they play.

Only 2 teams have the talent to truly challenge Alabama - UGA and Clemson.

So funny how Bama fans forgot that they lost to UAB in Saban first year there. They want to pick on us for losing to Troy in O first year but don’t want to bring up the UAB situation.

That probably won't be until the SEC Championship Game.

It wasn't UAB. It was UL-Monroe. And as bad as that loss was, you have to remember that not a single player from that '07 squad was drafted into the NFL in 2008. They were not that talented and the ones who were talented enough for the league (aka DJ Hall) had very bad attitude problems.

LSU's last four recruiting classes have been ranked 7th, 2nd, 5th, and 2nd as per 247 Sports. There are four and five-star players all over that roster. While Alabama's loss to UL-Monroe in '07 was bad, it doesn't compare to LSU's loss to Troy. Why? Because LSU has enough talent on that roster to be a Top 5 team.

This may be true, but it doesn't explain how Bama can't lose!!!!
