Everyone on twitter apparently thinks so and believes it is the most clear and unassailable example of it ever. It does not look like targeting to me unless any hard hit is targeting now.

I'm saying no but half of the things I don't think are targeting get dudes ejected for targeting so I'm not exactly a SME in this new pussified sport formally called football.

Every time a defensive player makes a great hard hit any where near the shoulder area, the refs lose their minds and throw flags.

Was it targeting? No, but compared to the targeting called against UGA in the Texas game it looks like a suicide bomber attack.

No he led with his shoulder and hit the guy in his chest
No crowning helmet
No helmet to helmet contact
The most you can say is the WR face mask grazed the defender

Yall got your asses dusted on homecoming and you’re trying to make excuses like it was a one score game?

He hit him with his shoulder pad dipshite. Hogs can join a flag football league if they can’t handle getting popped!!

The launching has to go into the head or neck. This was in his chest.

I’m not saying this is why Arkansas lost, but it was a big call in the game. No flag thrown, then reviewed for targeting, ruled not. I’m sorry, BS
No, the defender purposely turned his body so that he didn’t lead with his head. The offensive player is the one who ducked his head after the defender was already engaged in the tackle. Part of targeting, is the intent, and you can tell his intent was to not lead with the helmet.

He lead with his shoulder, so no it’s not targeting

We’d have gladly accepted the ejection however if they decided to rule otherwise.
The ejection of Sage Ryan, in that instance, wouldn’t have been good for your team. Sage Ryan hasn’t been the most productive player in his time at LSU. He has been much maligned as a 5 star bust.

It doesn't look like targeting.
The defenseless player got hit in the chest. If he were hit in the head or neck area it would be targeting. Or if the defender lowered his head and lead with the crown of his helmet.

Only people who thought it was targeting was the idiot announcers. They were so bad!

I actually spoke with a D1 referee yesterday.
* I asked about the way he launched himself upwards.
- said it was a vicious hit (which makes it look worse) but clearly was not targeting.

Maybe we would've gotten the call if we had thrown a bunch of shite onto the field

Not targeting. Auburn had a play almost exactly like this. The mizzou player destroyed the Auburn TE. As an Auburn fan…..I wish my guy hadn’t gotten demolished, but it was a clean football play. So was yours.

Targeting calls are out of hand. They need to reign this shite in.

No. Clean shoulder hit to break up the pass.
However the new rule is apparently that if a receiver or RB is coming at you full speed you’re supposed to just stand there with your hands behind your back like it’s a basketball pick and when they run you over hope they trip up.
