WTF...this is insane.

I’ll go on record that Bama SHOULD win and be even money to win it all every year.

RICHEST JUST GET RICHER

The depth at every position; the stockpiling of 5 stars is ridiculous

Ale Kaho is headed to Alabama. The former five-star linebacker from Reno, Nev., was released from his national letter of intent with Washington on Monday and a source close to the situation has informed 247Sports that Alabama will be the landing spot. It is expected that Kaho, the No. 1-rated inside linebacker in the 2018 class according to the 247Sports rankings, will depart for Tuscaloosa as early as Wednesday night.

wait, i thought his entire reason for leaving was "be closer to home"

ETA:

quote:

“He has been granted a release,” Petersen said after practice Monday evening. “His family was really adamant that he needs to — he’s going through some stuff and he needs to be close to his family. And we get that. You’ve got to do the right thing. We wish him the best.”

quote:

Two members of Kaho’s family, an aunt and an uncle of his, died suddenly last month back in his hometown of Reno, Nev. Kaho’s parents have also been going through a divorce, a family member told The Seattle Times late last week.

quote:

After Kaho returned to Reno for his family’s members’ memorial services, family members were worried about the linebacker’s health. One close relative claimed Kaho had lost some 20 pounds while in Seattle this summer. “Football is not even our concern right now,” the family member said. “He does not look right. He does not act right. He’s not the same bubbly kid we know.”

I mean, even with him we finished #5 in recruiting last year.

I bet Peterson feels duped after this.

To be honest, he won't play this year either way. So, he could have held him up and made a stink and probably looked bad ("Washington won't let kid with family deaths out of scholarship"), or he could just let him go and get a nice pat on the back in PR. Either way, the kid wasn't going to play in 2018. So, take the high road and the praise that comes with it, or fight it (even if you are "right") and gain nothing.

Seems like an easy decision to me

The coaching staff didn’t notice a 20 lb weight loss?

But really this kid is gonna love the stress free environment Saban provides.

Makes sense to go to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to feel closer to home

Kaho

Kudos to this young man for choosing a place closer to home that is technically much farther from home. I hope the language barrier will be just as easy of a transition for him as it was for Tagliova

I'm sure he can sleep over at Sabans house any time he feels home sick.

There is no depth at ILB fwiw, which is why this is big.

Really glad everyone decided to make transfers easier and shame people who attempt to keep kids on teams where they don't want to be.

Thanks guys! Just glad to be able to help this kid go where his heart desired!
