Is there any possibility that the SEC keeps 9 or 10 conferences games going forward

Would prefer an All SEC slate every year but will accept the other options. Would be a shame to go back to 8 next year

Not immiently die to commitments, but I don't see how they don't move to more conference games in the near future.

I think this season is a good test case to see if the increased difficulty screws the conference out of something important.

I hope so. Saturday was awesome. At the very least I hope they ban FCS games.

Won’t ban FCS games. That’s the lifeline for those programs to get a piece of the pie. Some FCS budgets would die if they had to get by without being a rent a win.

Does every FCS team play a P5 opponent each season?

I would assume it would depend if they beat themselves out of the playoffs this year.

Would be nice if it was 9 with 3 OOC games, 2 of which have to be from the power 5.

9 conference I would be happy with 1 Power 5 if every conference followed the same model.

9 SEC games would be best. You need those 7/8 homes games each years to pay for all of your sports teams that lose money.

When Ohio St. gets in to the playoff with a 7-0 record over a 9-1 SEC team we might just say frick it and do our own thing.

No, but there are some that are yearly cannon fodder just for the paycheck.

Like home games.
7 games of tv revenue.
A chance to work in freshman for playing time and development.
AD schedule flexibility.

Problem is teams have scheduled 4 non conf games going out a couple years.
You would either have to cancel some games or break a contract or wait until those games expire.

I think 9 would be more realistic and the uneven home and away games will just be a byproduct of it.
Still schedule the one non conf game against another power 5 and two bodybag games instead of 3.

What is wrong with scheduling 2 power 5 OOC? That gives 10 P5 games. That gives TV 7 more games to televise. And it gives ADs flexibility to schedule who and where they want to play (conference scheduling is handled by the conference and leads to the obvious bitching and moaninf)

I think go back to 11 games total.

9 conference with 1 P5 and 1 whatever you want.

I hope so. Saturday was fun without playing the entire SEC playing C-USA and Sun Belt teams.
