Drinking in public is still legal in almost all of Texas. TABC controls consumption laws and they do not allow cities to ban it. Cities can only petition TABC to ban consumption in very limited and specific business and entertainment districts. Cities can also ban drinking in parks and other properties they control.
Only city with widespread bans is Austin because they were grandfathered in.

You mean I can’t have a beer at the lake outside of Texas?

The only alcohol free waterways I’ve ever seen are in Oklahoma.

Getting to attend the Texas state fair has to help with the ease of a loss. Loser can still eat fried (insert any type of food here) until they go into a coma.
There are 300,000 people packed shoulder to shoulder in there by the time the game ends. You only go to the fair before and at half. As soon as that game ends it's time to get out of dodge.

Ok but that “just 2 away” isn’t the same as if the pool was 100 games.
“Just 2 away” in this case is a nearly 20% swing.
So yeah, you’re only a 20% dispersion away from being .500.

It’s actually a 10% swing, smart guy.

I like OU fans because deep down they know they are a bunch of undereducated, redneck losers.

Not sure, but it’s definitely a tongue twister.

No, they cheer for each other in every other game they play
This is stupidly incorrect. In fact, OU fans pull for OU and anyone playing Texas, we don't care about them needing to be ranked to make our win look better, F*CK 'em.

A friend of mine who is a Texas fan said that Texas fans hate Oklahoma like Auburn hates Alabama. I am not sure that is possible.

It’s simple why you think that. You’re closed minded.

I am in Austin right now. There is a beer called Oklahoma Suks. Yes. I’d say these two don’t like each other
They also scheduled the ACL music festival the same weekend as the game. They don’t care that much

You... you know that the university has absolutely nothing to do with ACL, right?
You also know that ACL is now two weekends so students can go to both, right?
I mean, you should know. Texas State students almost always spend weekends to get a taste of what they wish they were smart enough to experience

Way back in the day on the Friday night before the game, thousands of Texas and BlowU fans would rally on Commerce St. in Dallas. Many articles written, and real people experience that several hundreds and even thousands would be arrested on that night from year to year for various acts. Back in the mid to late 60s the violence was probably at it's peak, but not fatally. Remember back then drinking in public was legal, and encouraged. Death struck in 1992 with perhaps the most violent year, and this "Rally" was curtailed and diminished in nature. Below is link to article from 2017 that reflects back on the year 1992 violence. YES, This is a rivalry. Don't let this keyboard internet warrior crap sway any thoughts that it is not
I was there in ‘92. I remember the aftermath but didn’t experience any of it. I remember hearing that the most violent of stuff was from gang members but from the article some of the violence was perpetrated by people who lived outside of Dallas so it must have been a mix.
I miss the commerce street thing. It was really unique.

It is funny... because not only is your stadium named after an OU graduate...
Your current school president...Jay Hartzell... grew up in Oklahoma as an OU fan.

So... you're bragging that people who started in Oklahoma couldn't leave OU behind fast enough so they could be in Austin instead?
DIdn't really think that one through, did ya
