Is the move to the SEC responsible for killing the Missouri basketball program?

Since joining the SEC the Missouri basketball program hasn't achieved the same level of success experienced in prior seasons. Part of this problem could be attributed to two poor head coaching hires, but other factors seem to have contributed to the decline in our basketball program. Basketball just isn't important to many SEC fans unless you're Kentucky, or Florida. The rivalries, and traditions in this league don't measure up when compared to other conferences. Also recruiting has dried up since joining the SEC.

In light of these facts would the SEC consider allowing Missouri to move the Missouri basketball program out of the SEC much like the arrangement Notre Dame has with ACC for basketball, and allow the Missouri basketball program to return to prominence?

The only way to fix this is for Missouri to go to a different conference. We would all support you in this endeavor.

Of course a mizzou poster thinks their shitty program is other people's fault, not their own.

Whole university is full of entitled pricks.

Nahh Missouri sucking in general and pandering to SJW is what killed your school

ETA: yes you already embrace the SJW culture of blaming others for your own problems.

Not sure if serious?

Arkansas comes to mind
Alabama comes to mind
Tennessee comes to mind
LSU comes to mind
Vanderbilt comes to mind

My question is if the Tigers have ever beaten Kentucky yet?

No.

Talking about basketball season after the first week of football is killing the football program.

In all seriousness only two basketball programs in the SEC could be considered for prioritizing basketball like Missouri. The others play in nice facilities, but will not invest in their programs like football. On most nights in places like Bud Walton Arena, and Thompson-Boiling there are thousands of empty seats especially for games during the week. This just didn't happen in the Big 12, facilities were packed for games during the week.

Comparing Missouri's importance to the SEC to Notre Dame's importance to the ACC is laughable. Your basketball team sucks because of terrible coaching, and most your own fans don't seem to care given how empty your arena has been.

You're not allowed to talk basketball until December, unless you're Kentucky.

This doesn't work. A&M entered at the same time and we've become a better program signing better players.

Your scenario only works if we tanked too.

And this is where you lose any credibility (not that you had much to begin with).

Mizzou's basketball problem is Mizzou's doing. You hired Frank Haith and then had an utter failure of a hire in Kim Anderson. You can shite on the rest of the SEC all you like, but I can at least say some non-traditional programs are building better arenas and hiring better coaches to fix their issues.
