No problem with Gary. He is still good, maybe not on top of his game like he was in his prime, but still good. As other posters states, CBS from a production side is the worst produced College football telecast out there. ABC and ESPN are much better. I haven't watched Fox games enough to say one way or the other but the USC-Utah game seemed like it did not go overboard with commercials, they took TV TO's when the USC backup QB got hurt. CBS a player gets hurt, they hold the cameras over the injured player and trainers, then they go to TV TO. That turns into potentially 10 minutes of down time. You don't have to wonder why CBS games that start 2:30/3:30 end at 6:30/7:30 CST/EST.

I think it's because CBS has to fill 4 hours of football with something, and he can only say so much without repeating himself, again and again.

My favorite from the last game was when he said, "that's a little holding, but not holding". I mean come on, a little holding, IS HOLDING, idiot!! I get what he was trying to say, but he didn't let it go...

Bama fans certainly don't mind him. He spends 3 hours sucking them off every Saturday.. even when he's not calling their game

If he sticks to analyzing plays he’s ok. When he gets side tracked he’s terrible

He is one of the absolute best at pure analyst stuff. He can get annoying when he gets fixated on things.

I think Klatt does a nice job on games for FOX.

CBS is the worst producer of college football these days. Absolutely technically terrible.

No way its worse than Fox. Fox is the absolute worst

If you are talking NFL, I agree. Joe Buck is beyond annoying. Aikman is so-so. Their college games aren’t too bad. Gus Johnson at least brings some energy to the booth. But it’s still a relatively unfinished product. CBS NFL is just as terrible as Fox NFL. It’s a Brady love fest.

I think he is the Best

Enjoy his comments, analysis and general appreciation of the game and its players.

I ducking hate CBS games. They are the worst. They spread it out over 3.5 to 4 hours and if you are getting your arse beat that is intolerable to sit through

frick Verne, and frick Gary.

Verne watching Greg Childs run 30yds then fumbling against Bama before recovering... tried to say it was an incomplete pass.

I hope he suffers.

He's an excellent analyst

But only when he actually notices what's going on. Far too often, he completely misses what happened and is talking about something that didn't happen or doesn't matter.

He definitely has a Bama bias. Even Bama fans off this website have mentioned this

He’s not the worst as far as actual discussion goes outside of the slobbering, but there is plenty of slobbering.

You can always tell who he expects/wants to win

Joe Buck is terrible. So monotone. Pairing him with Aikman is like a sleeping pill for your ears.
