Is the 431 Miracle full payback for Kick 6?

Seems like it was just as improbable and more heartbreaking, but Kick 6 was a slower kill.

I'd say they are even now.

One was to go to the sec championship game and a natty. The other was against a 6-6 squad who was just blown out by New Mexico.

It’s a great win for Bama fans but hardly the same

Kick 6 was to win the West and a trip to the natty. This loss was just a kick in the nuts bc the game was fricking over and we blew it.

TV announcers and crews across the country will completely ignore 431.

Next year there will be 100 replays of kick six like it happened yesterday.

Yean I'd say we are even. They were all ready to rush the field and do what Barners do and then.....

Miracle? You think it's a miracle that a no call OPI decided the game in bama's favor? I say it would have been a miracle if they did call it correctly.

The Kick Six was a decade ago. The kids currently attending the two universities were in elementary school when that play went down. Sure...it prevented Alabama from threepeating and made us feel like absolute arse at the time. However, we have won three national championships and six conference championships since then.

What has Auburn done? Aside from winning the SEC in 2013...nothing. The loss sucked at the time but we have since gotten over it and moved on. Last night's ending was sweet because it was on a wild and wacky play on the same night Auburn was celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Kick Six play, but comparing it to the aforementioned play just isn't possible or necessary. That game has been avenged many times over since then.

I dunno man, as little rush as Auburn brought on that play it may be closer to total run time from snap to score than we think.

Maybe, maybe not.

But now Auburn has to deal with our voodoo in their stadium. It's in their heads.

Of course, they're getting blown out in BDS next year, so we'll have to wait for the next Bama voodoo in jhs.

I remember well. And I'll never stop thanking Auburn for that.

We were riddled with injuries and gassed by that point in the season. Auburn's win over Alabama in Jordan-Hare gave us much needed rest to recover for our playoff run. No way we would have beaten Georgia in Atlanta in the state we were in at that point in time.

Kick 6 likely kept Bama out of the BCS NCG, so no.

But, the last two trips to JHS have certainly built up AU fan hopes only to have them crushed in the most dramatic of fashions.

There is no payback for Kick Six. Missed FGs, blown two TD lead. Bama was going for the three peat, 11-0 and that loss sent them to the Sugar Bowl and sent Auburn to the title game.

It’s a hell of a feeling but Kick Six is different.

With kick6, just say, frickit, that was a miracle.

4th and 31 was a truly avoidable incident that will emotionally crush them until they beat Alabama. That may take a while.

Tell me you don't understand what OPI is without telling me.

But I dare you to blame this game on "muh refs" after you guys got away with throwing punches, laying out our punter (and keeping him down), targeting, PI after PI after PI, late hits, a missed facemask, etc.

The KICK 6 is up there with the Cal and Stanford finish. Yesterday's Iron Bowl is the equivalent of the 90s game where Georgia completed a 25 yard pass at the last second to send the game into overtime and beat Auburn. In the moment it's awesome, but pales in comparison to what the KICK 6 finish was like.

The voodoo is that a shitty Auburn team plays like a top 10 team in their stadium against us, dumb arse.

they were hand-fighting the whole time. It was closer to DPI, but they'd been letting that same corner get away with very aggressive coverage all night, so that wasn't getting called.

It would take something extraordinarily egregious for a ref to pull his flag one way or the other in that situation.
