You might be right, but I can almost see the desperate hope dripping off of your post.
Bottom line is this: We are honored to a part of the SEC, the best league in the conference (a conference the rest of y'all built - NOT US). But we're the new guys. You guys are proud, and to have the new guys come in and be better than you thought we were going to be is an affront to that famous SEC pride.
Sorry. We know you guys built the best damn league in the world. But we've got a good team, a good new coach, a good new QB, and we want to win NOW. And we just might do it. (Not the whole thing, ming you. We have no chance of doing that. But we could conceivable get into the top 3 in the West.)

i could've went to SouthEastern Louisiana and still known that State and TAMU aren't real contenders in the SEC West.

they are so good that they left their starters in for the whole game against what has now become probably the worst team in the league so that they could run up the score and get people talking about how great they are. Arkansas has given up completely.

I love how the aggies are assuming they are gonna win the game against Tech. Sure Tech has defense issues but you're gonna have some trouble outscoring them. The starting aggie secondary is full of 3 star recruits.
I'll be taking the over.

can't argue with that.

We put our 3rd string QB in.

Auburn looked pretty salty against LSU. 12-10? They held LSU to less 100 yards less than their season average.

If by "whole game" you mean "the first three quarters," you are correct. Our starters played only one possession in the 4th quarter. Did not play at all in the second half of SC State. Did not plat at all in the 4th quarter against SMU.

You know who else isn't a real contender in the SEC West? Louisiana Tech.

How was it ranked before the A&M game, serious question?
Total offense gained by opponents:
Jacksonville State- 322 yards(227 passing), 24 points
La Monroe- 550 yards(412 passing), 34 points
Alabama- 438 yards(213 passing), 52 points
Rutgers-525 yards(397 passing), 35 points
Only time the opponent didn't score at least 7 TD's was against a 2-2 FC team.

I wouldn't bank on that as good as LSU performed against Towson.

We have a defense with a pulse (top 50). We have a top 20 offense. They don't have either. I think we'll be fine.

shame that it's up to Texas A&M to prove that theory.....
try again.

I was pretty happy to see Joeckel get two series actually. Being a soph with a Fr and So ahead of him, that may be the most meaningful snaps he'll ever take. Then again, since I thought his two series were better than Shower's two, he may become 2nd team. Showers has really not shown much the last two weeks.

Guys, VC is not actually looking for a debate or a discussion.
His own argument can be used against him and numerous other teams.
The truth is, the season is too young to make any kind of conclusions.
A&M has played well, even in a loss, therefore we are happy.
Not too hard to understand, even for a person like VC.
That is incorrect. I am looking for good debate.
My own argument. LSU was pre-season #5, and have beat a current top 25 team so far. You weren't expected to be that good, at all, and now after wins against SMU, South Carolina State, and the last ranked defense in Div 1 football, you guys talking like you are good.
You have done NOTHING at all to back this up. The season isn't too young. You guys are talking 9-3 on here....without beating a team yet in the top 80 in the nation.

Do you think Arkansas can beat La Tech? Florida?
Posted on 10/1/12 at 11:44 am to tmc94
Showers has a cannon. He could start for a LOT of schools. I don't think there is any way that we keep both Joeckel and Showers, but I hope we keep at least one of them.

Where was that top 20 offense against Florida?

depend where the Tech game was at. Would be a good game for sure. I'd have to lean towards Tech winning regardless.
Arkansas wouldn't even compete with Florida.
