The fact that we are even having thjs discussion is proof that shite is fricked up in this sport and it needs to be fixed quickly.

Of course, I think they try to beat Texas, but it won't hurt that bad if they lose

You don’t think it will hurt. No telling what the committee would do. They could leave them in the top 4 and still get a bye or they could drop them anywhere in the bracket. It could be beneficial to lose, but nobody really knows because we could also land in a harder branch of the bracket.

At the end of the day, you have to play your matchups regardless of the seed

They would likely be the 5 seed, play some trash G5 team at home that miss st could walk, and then play the 4 seed. Not a bad path

No Aggie fans will answer the question about how they will feel if they lose the next 2 to end their season. It’s certainly a possibility

I will feel sad.

Happy?

Is Texas A&M better off losing to Texas? Avoiding the SEC championship game and potential injuries that might come from it… See Georgia from last year.

Oh, HELL no.

A&M is looking dead in the eyes at beating Texas in Austin to complete an undefeated season.

Then to go on to compete for an SEC championship?

It’s EVERYTHING any true Aggie has ever wanted. And I don’t blame them for wanting it.

Damn the potential injuries, or anything else for that matter. You play to win.

No. You should cherish an undefeated season. Hasn't happened in a long time

This. That’s a pretty big thing.

Very emotional, feelings based answer vs an analytical answer. Guess I should have said “view” instead of “feel.”

No. If Aggie wins they can stake a Big 7 claim.

Of course the Big 6 will immediately move the goal posts and say multiple SEC Championships are the standard.

Your answer is correct but I’m adding a bit of color. Years ago, for me anyway, bearing tu would have been the goal. Now though, Texas’ team really is only an obstacle - a very necessary obstacle that needs to be bested- in order to hit Atlanta and then securing a bye in the CFP. But it’s beyond the individual games ahead of the Aggies. It’s chasing perfection in a record. It doesn’t come around as much as I’d like but when it is staring at you you respect the task.

Correct, especially when it’s possible to get to Atl without playing an SEC team with a better record than 8-4…

No. Beating Texas and then beating Bama gives A&M the top CFP seed. They have the same head to head opponent as OSU. Texas.

The only way anyone topples them from that perch is if the Aggies win out.

I don’t know if A&M is good enough to run a four game gauntlet against a decent slate. The alternative though is holding off Texas in a heavy weight matchup, and then you have to play Alabama/Georgia in another physical matchup. A&M is probably underdogs in that championship matchup, and if they lose they’d likely have to run the gauntlet anyways coming off two physically taxing games. Basically the path of ‘24 Texas. We had to play the ACC & Big12 Champ back to back after losing an OT game to Georgia. Then had to play Ohio State. That’s a tough road.

No, this is their Super Bowl. Texas is always kicking dust in their face. They own the all-time series in football, won the first meeting as SEC teams, and took their baseball coach.

None of those emotional arguments matter.

All this chatter is just that. Texas is much improved and it should be a good game come Friday. Let’s see what happens and we will all deal with it accordingly.

Dude they are a paper tiger . If they lose to the first real SEC team they play they won't even have a home game . They will drop below all one loss teams and probably a few two loss ones ..so yes they do need to win

It's a meaningless game for A&M and horn's Super Bowl. It will be hard for the Ag players to get up for it.

Everyone said A&M couldn’t beat a top team on the road at ND
Then the goal posts moved and there was the typical loss to Florida, MSU, or Arkansas
Then they said that A&M will lose one of their three tough road games in a row
Cannot win in Death Valley

Etc, Etc

Face it, A&M has the ability to win any game. The ability to lose as well. We are a lock. CFB will have to deal with it

We are pretty deep in most positions. Losing a starter would be bad be we would still be competitive
