I have my doubts about this guy being on par with Slive. I doubt he knows what the next move is.

He was Slive's right hand man for the monumental years for the SEC including 2012 expansion.

Without him there's no 2020 season. The Big Ten commissioner had his dick in the dirt and the Pac 12 and Big 12 were the dunces that followed him.

Sankey gave them a huge middle finger and it gave them no choice.

The Big Ten's recent move was a reaction to OU and Texas.

It looks like Sankey has been calling his shots and the other commissioners are just reacting and scared.

Have 100000x confidence in Sankey than I would Warren or any of these other bozos who no one knows their names.

He even devised a 12 team playoff to get 3-4 SEC teams in a year. The rest of the conferences were for it until Sankey big-bossed the OU/Texas move.
But then called their bluff and said, "fine, we're flourishing in the current system too."

Sankey has got them tied up in so many knots that they don't know what their next move will be. Every move to "stick it to the SEC" turns out to be beneficial to the SEC.

Reminds me of the AL Pacino speech in 'The Devil's Advocate'
"He says look but don't touch.
Touch but don't taste.
Taste but don't swallow."

Sankey has got them tore up.

Can't wait to see the next move. If UNC will accept, I think they and Clemson will be the next ones on board. Don't even speak about that Grant of Rights thru 2036 the ACC stupidly agreed to. We've reached a point monetarily where it is cheaper and more lucrative for schools interested in leaving to take the hit and pay it out over a few years with the additional revenue a super SEC will generate.

They're waiting for Notre Dame to leave because that may make it void. The problem isn't a money buyout. It's that any money earned goes to the ACC till

I'm okay with Slive getting us Aggy as they are amusing cannon fodder, but Missouri is just a bad fit.

I actually feel bad for Missouri. They really belong in the Big 10, along with Kansas.

You feel bad that we are a state with over 6 million people, 2 major media markets, the only P4/G5 program in the state and a boarder state worth something to the B10 and SEC?

Part of the issue with Missouri in the SEC is the lack of natural/traditional rivals. Adding a team or two that would complement each other in this way would strengthen the overall appeal of Missouri +, +.

Believe adding Texas and Oklahoma is going to be very good for Arkansas. Think of the old SWC and how many big games between Texas & Arkansas. And, though Oklahoma was Big 8, the schools aren't that distant from one another and that should develop into a strong rivalry.

Is there anyone out there that he needs to be super aggressive in going after? Beyond ND I am not really sure what any of these other schools out there really do for you as the SEC.

Every morning George Kliakoff checks the newspaper obits to ensure Sankey still has a heartbeat, so he won't be the worst commissioner in college football.

Seeing as how he has the SEC solidly on top as far as conferences go, I'd say yes.

agree

adding Texas and OU a year before B1G move to grab LA schools has proven a resounding pre-emptive success

Sankey needs to call

Credit to B1G for going off the grid to grab LA schools.

SEC needs to counter by going off the grid and grabbing Notre Dame, North Carolina, Clemson and Virginia Tech next.

OU UT TAMU and mizzou vs
Maryland Rutgers Nebraska usc and UCLA

SEC won and will continue to win.

Expansion maintaining geographic footprint while adding schools that are relevant in a variety of sports.

I’m a firm believer that get a solid team and fan base and the rest falls into place. Big metros outside of the south (and even in the south) are pro centric. Adding New York or LA just for the sake of adding New York or LA won’t move the needle much. If, and it’s a big if, USC gets back then that changes things significantly but until then I’m unimpressed.

Despite my loathing for the aggies Kyle field is going to be full vs LSU even if the aggies are 7-4 going into that game.
College football fans across the south and most years across the nation are going to tune into Texas vs LSU.

I’m not turning on Rutgers vs Nebraska or Rutgers vs Wisconsin and I doubt someone in Michigan is either.

Even take mizzou for instance. Arguably the worst addition. They have won the east twice. They have to pull more eyes on average than Rutgers does.
