No troll. Just watching the game and wondering if Arkansas might call him home if/when they fire Pittman.

He’s been mentioned by our resident experts of course. I’m more than tired of that crap.

Yeah but unlike Morris, Lashlee has previous experience coaching in the SEC.

SMU can counter any offer from Arkansas. I think SMU is a better job than Arkansas.

Hilarious. In what way? Playing in the ACC is easier than the SEC. Other than that, they have nothing on Arkansas, historically or currently.

Man, even we stayed away from Morris as an OC, and he’s an Aggie. We weren’t going to be the first to try him. I was shocked when Arkansas hired him. But I also think he inherited a bad roster. When they put Starkel on the field against us, I was like, the Arkansas QB room must be dead for Morris. And Starkel got hurt unfortunately trying to tackle Justin Madubuike I believe.

Football history is irrelevant. Y'all don't financially support football like SMU. Y'all put basketball over football.

Not conference schedule wise. The sec is the place for head coaching dreams come to die. Check out all the promising coaches who came to this conference only to be fired in short order. No team is exempt including Bama pre Saban.

We're not exempt post-Saban either.

Watched SMU's opening game and it was like reliving the Gus years. Really sucks to know that we will inevitably hire him one day.

If SMU will pay as much money as Arkansas it's a better job especially if one prefers the DFW over northwest Arkansas. Not to mention not everyone wants to be in the SEC especially if the money and financial support is equal.

Just because we strongly support basketball doesn’t mean we neglect football. Arkansas has a much better NIL backing than SMU, hence why we recruit better than them. SMU has some rich boosters, that’s about it. Any coach would leave SMU for Arkansas.

You’re reaching really far here with your claim.

They have oil money.

quote:

For all this to happen, it took power players who knew how to wheel and deal, lots of money and some Dallas bravado -- all of which are in abundance on the Hilltop. Most schools make a conference move to get more television revenue, not less.
quote:

But SMU just wanted a seat at the table. SMU's chairman of the board, David Miller, fired his metaphorical six-shooter in the air when he explained how the program could go without television revenue for nine years: The money didn't matter to them.

"It's a couple hundred million dollars," Miller told Yahoo. "I'm not losing sleep over it."

Using your logic I could say SMU is a better job than Alabama. If one prefers DFW over Tuscaloosa and doesn’t want to be in the SEC especially if the money and financial support is equal.

See?

And, I would agree. Alabama isn't for everyone.

Lashlee kinda sucks, doesn’t he? With this 2 qb shite. And as an offensive guru they scored 20 or less against every power conference team they played last year. Dude is mid.

You’re really not very good in defending your logic.

Arkansas has a lot more fans in the Dallas metro than SMU. Arkansas has a huge alumni base in Dallas.
