I'm really not familiar with the circumstances of him leaving, but I was just wondering if he's an option. I do know he left under bad terms at UGA and then there's the whole UT fiasco, that may not be sorted through yet. To the best of my knowledge, he did well in Tuscaloosa though, or am I mistaken?

- He was great in Tuscaloosa

- The NCAA situation sounds far from settled

- Nobody really knows, but it's hard to see him becoming an SEC DC in the next 90 days given all the uncertainty

I'm sure Nick Saban would love to bring him back. But, what about the SEC? They still have problems with anyone wanting to bring in Freeze. I don't think Pruitt's case is settled as of yet.

It doesn't sound like it with his NCAA issues. If he isn't, I would like to see us go after Glenn Schumann at UGA.

I don't even know what happened at UT with him. Has anyone come to any conclusions? All I remember is there was a lot of smoke and he was gone.

He is calling plays for the defense.

There are 3 defensive coordinators in the room coming up with gameplan and strategy (Kirby, boom, and glenn).

It was Glenn's idea to keep blitzing the slot defender over and over late in the game Saturday until Tennessee could figure out how to manage it.

He is given the same freedoms that Lanning had. And he has those freedoms so long as they work (same as if he was under saban)

No one really knows what he wants to do. I hung out with him some when he was a GA at 'Bama, and I know he really enjoyed the time and the grind. He also used to play the hell out of Magic the Gathering game. Some of the guys I lived with played, and he came over often with a huge folder of cards.

Pruitt is untouchable till the NCAA investigation is finished and he has served his punishment. He and his assistants are looking at a show cause. Only question is for how long? Once Pruitt gets his NCAA issue resolved then I do think he will be on the sidelines again. But his issues with the NCAA is far from over.

Pruitt was fired at UT with cause. meaning he not getting his buy out. Pruitt, his wife, and his assistants was caught paying players, paying rent for family members, making car payments. His wife had taken recruits parents, sisters and girl friends to spas and given cash out. Pruitt and his staff committed 18 level 1 violations. It’s a lot more than smoke. He will get punished harder than the school will. UT cleaned house once they found out. NCAA didn’t catch Pruitt. UT found out and fired him and turned themselves in to the NCAA. The NCAA commended UT how they handled it and even said they should be the standard to handling issues like this. UT also forced Fulmer to retire. 31 recruits also transferred, which every player that got paid was part of that 31.

Well they forced the AD to retire, fired Pruitt and all his assistants that was involved. Fired support staff members that was involved in the athletic department. Forced every kid to leave that received improper benefits. And Turned themselves in and open the doors to the NCAA. NCAA didn’t catch UT. NCAA only found out after UT made the call to notify them.

I keep seeing Demeco Ryans as a possible DC to Alabama.

Pruitt was 3-7 in 2020.

Pruitt effed up and deserved to he fired for the violations.

But Tennessee isn't self reporting with a 12 win coach. You can agree to disagree if you want.

The "found" violations were convenient.
Pruitt was picked by Fulmer. Yet Fulmer was asked to retire.

Didn't LSU athletics tally up nearly a dozen Level 1's this summer in that anal probe that was conducted on their football/basketball? And no one's heard a poot from the NCAA.

I'd love to have Pruitt on the sidelines doing his stuff, but I understand if it's a no-go for Sankey.
