True, Barnes' teams play defense

Bama had one of the best defenses in the country just last season.

A Bammer never has the right to laugh at Arkansas basketball when Alabama basketball is absolute dog shite and always has been.

And now look at that drop off. A better coach would show some consistency

Kentucky is on a downward slide and can't seem to deal with the way the game is played today.

I don't agree with that statement, and for a lot of reasons that could/would be slapped around back and forth ad nauseam. You are piggybacking on media sharks with kitschy tag lines who think they know what's - what in sports. At least be original.

and sticking up for a Tennessee coach. Seems alter-ish to me.

Another swing and a miss. The fact that Barnes is a great head coach doesn't make me anything other than a conscientious observer of sports.

We went 15-3 in SEC play last year and beat Alabama. Plus, we beat Tennessee, Florida, and Kentucky (twice) this year.

I will change my wording to "consistently" challenge.

Tennessee ain't bad but Barnes is not Oats.

Oats has been to the Sweet 16 three times and was knocked out in the first round once.

Barnes, just at Tennessee, has been to the Sweet 16 three times and the round of 32 twice, and was knocked out in the first round once.

I'd say they're pretty even right now as far as consistency and ceiling have been concerned.

And again, that's completely ignoring a whole lot of coaching Barnes did at Texas where he missed the NCAAT one time in 17 years, with a final four, 2 elite 8s, and 2 sweet 16s

I do think those are the top 2 coaches in the league right now, though, but the margin is razor thin IMO.

No the state media has already proclaimed Auburn/Pearl as the GOAT.

They did it again this year - and got burned - big time.

Historical levels at Auburn isn’t saying much. I’d say winning one (1) NCAA tournament game since 2019 is not a good trend for Bruce. Not to mention losing to Yale. And he just lost KD to the portal. .

I disagree. Making three Sweet Sixteens in four years - making the regional finals back to back for the first time in 33 years, being the overall No. 1 seed for the first time in school history last year - is enough confirmation for me that Oats has this thing clicking.

Making the Sweet Sixteen this year after losing 70% of your production along with all three assistants to HC jobs is a masterful coaching job. Anything beyond last Sunday is gravy, IMO. We’ll be better next year.

2020- no tourny was held
2021 - self imposed post season ban
2022 - beat Jax State in 1st round, lost to Miami in 2nd round
2023 - beat Iowa in 1st round, lost to Houston in 2nd round
