Is Mississippi State the ultimate trap game for LSU?

I am worried a little about LSU overlooking State this weekend by looking ahead to Bama. Moo St currently has the 10th ranked overall total defense in the country (1st in SEC). While I dont think Fitzpansy can pass well enough to pull off the W, I think it'll be a low scoring Battle with LSU pulling off the W with a late TD. Definitely a game I would take the under on if I were a betting man.

Thoughts?

I don't think the state game really matters because you guys are overlooking state and will lose to Alabama. Once that happens, Arkansas will then feast again on your swampy carcasses.

You really think LSU is going to overlook a team that beat them by 30 last season?

I wouldn't even call it a trap game. Every reasonable LSU fan and player is well aware that MSU is capable of and willing to beat the brakes off of LSU if we don't show up.

I hope that is the case. Hopefully the team is taking that approach and not that of the many posters on here (and other boards) that seem focused on Bama.

It appears to be for their fans, but that rarely translates to the focus of the coaches and the players.

As long as Gameday doesn't pick us to win then we'll be fine.

This game is at home against a team that embarrassed LSU last season. The coach that led them to that win beat LSU again this season but at a different school. LSU is much more talented and is now better coached. Revenge will be sweet.

Burrow has been getting better and better.

He'll carry over his fantastic performance against Georgia into this game.

Mississippi State is screwed.

State is still averaging 12 ppg in SEC play, with 2 of those games at home. LSU will be the best defense State has played, imho.

I think CoachO will play it safe, not seeing MSU's offense as a threat. LSU will play field position, knowing that if they get up by 2 scores then the game should be over.

I'd def take the under

It's not really a trap game when we expect MSU to beat you

An SEC team with a #1 Defense that won last year by 30 is certainly not a trap game.Learn the definition of what a trap game is.

If the team is thinking like the fanbase, absolutely.

I doubt they ARE, but if the mindset is the same State can absolutely win that game. LSU fans are already obsessing over the Alabama game that isn't for 3 weeks.

If LSU is caught looking ahead, they'll probably lose.
