He turned Texas Tech into a winner and has turned Washington St into a competitive program. How is he a fraud?

People act like Texas Tech was some three win program before he got there. He improved them. A little bit.

This. The idea that he somehow turned his teams into true powers or even regular conference contenders is a false narrative. He is getting tons of credit for this season and one good yr at tech.

I simply don't get the infatuation with him, other than his humorous antics.

He's a .500 coach at wazzu in an era when the pac has been more down than up in terms of conference depth.

He's .600 overall as a headcoach at tech and wazzu.

He had one really good season at TT. Outside of that anomaly, he had no other double digit win seasons. Including that year, he only had two seasons with 3 or fewer losses. He took a perennial 6-7 win TT and made them a 8-9 win team in the big 12. That is not exactly coaching genius at play.

Wow
I agree with Frisco.

I think last night was just the Friday Night Massacre.

One team thought they would coast, another team struggled their first time in the spotlight.

Good post, and excuse me for asking, but doesn't he look like the perfect guy for the Vols next coach?

He's definitely not a good defensive coach.

I would think it is hard to get a good defense, seeing as who they have to practice with each week.

Their defense has been nothing short of amazing all year, with mostly 2* talent. The Grinch is The Man.

One of my greatest fears as far as college football is that he becomes the coach at Auburin. With their 4-5 star players it would be exciting times.

He and Pearl would make a great comedy act!...maybe they could get the ex-asst. softball coach to make it a trio!

One of these days the rant will come to realize that the problems were bigger than anyone believed and that no coach was going to step in and kick arse from the get go.

''There's no bright spot. We were pathetic,'' Cougars coach Mike Leach said. ''We're a bunch of pathetic front-runners.''

That’s piss poor pitiful and then Leech calls out his team. How much of that is on you, Pirate? You’re the guy in charge. What a douchebag

He probably saw what saban has been complaining about. Players heads getting inflated, and the got their arse beat.

I think it's great he called him out. We'll see what kind of boyz or men his players are the next game. We all know leach doesnt play the pc game, so why is he a douschebag for calling him out?? Cause he hurt your feelings??

That's how he coaches. That's how he got a bunch of 2*s to rise up to #8 in the country.NO other coach could do that, not even saban. I guess Meyer/Mullen did once.

And Cal's coach aint no slouch, he'll be moving on up the ladder, too.

Absolutely.

But I have to give Cal credit. They were well prepared for this game.
