did you see what teams weree hiring this ofseason i thought ole ole mis did the smart thing and waited make no misttake luke is gone this season ole mis jsut out thought everyone and hired a placeholder for a year

I think not...I suspect he's just a placeholder to weather the storm till the sanctions are done...doubt they could've hired a first or even second tier coach with what they got hit with. I figure he's there for a year or two, three tops, and then they start the real coaching search...

Matt Luke was about as good as Ole Miss could hope for. Da Coach O was the worst hire.

Yeah I think it was a smart play. You need someone to get you through the shitty years for cheap then go out afterwards and hire a big time name for a lot of money.
Start building up that war chest money to make a run at a serious name in 2-3 years.
