Doesn't make it a top job. Nebraska is one of the top programs of all time. Does that make them better than LSU?

OU pays stoops more than any other coach besides saban and Harbough. They also are spending 300 mil on new facilities that are half way done. LSU could barely afford to buy out Miles.

LSU is an elite job because of the lack of competition for in-state recruits. But, yes, LSU fans do overrate the shite out of their program.

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. USC
4. Texas
5. Florida
6. Florida State
7. Oklahoma
8. Michigan
9. LSU
10. Tennessee/Nebraska/Notre Dame (has beens with potential)

Considering Harbaugh is paid more than both of them I'd say you have no clue what the frick you're talking about.

ETA: Also, a quick search proves that Bob isn't even getting paid $6+ until 2019.

You really have no fricking clue what you're talking about.

Georgia will produce almost 2 1/2 times more FBS scholarships than the state of Louisiana and only have
GT as the only other P5 program in the state.

There's so many factors to take in to account for coaching these days. Schools that may be viewed as top tier/prestigious some coaches may be totally uninterested in. Talent pool, money, and prestige I think LSU is very close to that top ten in those categories, but it is also high pressure and I think the right coach needs to enjoy what the region/culture has to offer.

Jobs that are absolutely better:

- Michigan

Is Florida better? Is that how they ended up with Muschamp and McElwain?

LSU is a better job than Notre Dame and probably tied with Oklahoma and FSU.

I meant harbough Bob makes about the same as Meyer. And yes he makes 6+ with bonus. Miles got pai less than 4.5 LOL. Still there's only two coaches that make more than stoops.

Why are you including bonuses for Stoops, but not Miles? That's pretty fricking dumb.

Fact: Bob Stoops' base salary is not going to be $6 million or more until 2019. LOL

Muschamp was a really hot coaching prospect at the time who had interviewed with Clemson, Auburn, etc., and was the head coach-in-waiting at Texas.

McElwain was Foley's first choice last time around.

What's your point?

That if Muschamp with no HC experience was the top candidate then LSU is clearly a better job than UF

You are easily amazed my friend.

OK, if LSU is a TOP TOP TOP job, let's wait and see who scrambles and claws to get that open coaching job. If you pull a top name coach away from a power 5 team, perhaps that would indicate it is a "TOP" job.

But if after being turned down by coaches at MAC, ACC, AAC, SOB, REC, NAIA, D-II, D-III, etc. schools, suppose you end up with a coach who hasn't had a head coaching job for 10 years? One who has had no offers of a HC job, was unemployed as a coach for years in any capacity until this year, and is not even a coordinator. Will that settle the question of "is LSU a top job?"

Think who is standing in line to be Alabama's next head coach. Now look at who is standing in line for the LSU position... oops.. it seems to be a very short line.

The only top 10 list the state of Louisiana belongs on is in obesity and poverty rates only. So how would the state university even be considered for a top destination?
