ND FSU and OK are all trash this year are you kidding me?

As if how they're doing this year has anything at all to do with how good of a job it is. So Western Michigan is a better job than LSU?

Any school that will pay a lardass like Charlie Weis a gazillion dollars over ten years to not coach is a better job than almost any in the country.

Texas will always be a top job based on tradition resources and talent in state.

They rival UGA for one of the most underachieving programs in the country but they will always be a top job.

So without looking at the OP's list I'm thinking ... (1-5 pts awarded for each of the following) in terms of attendance, money, tradition, fan support, conference affiliation, recruiting grounds, modern perception (say over the past 30-40 yrs), prestige, facilities, etc.

1 - Bama
2 - SoCal
3 - OSU
4 - Michigan
5 - Florida
6 - Texas
7 - Tennessee
8 - Nebraska
9 - Oklahoma
10 - LSU
11 - FSU
12 - Georgia
13 - Notre Dame
14 - FSU
15 - A&M
16 - Penn State
17 - Auburn
18 - taterheads
19 - meh, probably Miami

20 ... any number of possibilities.

It is one of the best recruiting areas in the country ,but you have to play in the most brutal division in college football which includes playing Nick Saban every year. It is definitely a top job but if a good coach wants to play for a NC there are much easier paths. I would say it is definitely in the top 10 ,but many would avoid it because of the tough road to a playoff berth.

They're tier 1 ... how a tier is ranked depends on the ranker ...

OP said top 10 job. Not team. Not program. Job. Ultimately, the employee is the best judge. How well is the employee taken care of. For that reason alone, ND has to be close to the top. Name another school that would guarantee Charlie Weis that kind of coin for six years after firing him. Granted, Les's alimony is impressive...but not as impressive as Weis's in today's dollars.

You are trying to compare a top 3 program to....LSU. Why are you doing such a thing?

Notre Dame

This is what's wrong with LSU fans. You are out of your damn mind. There's God tier: USC, Alabama, Ohio state, Texas, Penn State, and Notre Dame all in there--they have their ups and downs but they've mostly been great for most of their history.

Lateral move. Wasn't worth Jimbo's trouble. He's turned you down twice.

I'd put you in Miami's category. Lots of potential. But Miami has a better history.

I remember when Washington had a share of the national title. And they don't walk around comparing themselves to Notre Dame.
