He reminds me so much of Brandon Jacobs.

I would hope he has a much better career than that.

For a top 5 pick, that’s a bust

No Championships. No Heisman's. 0-3 vs Alabama. No nothing.

2 of 3 are team accomplishments. The third only one player wins. If those are your parameters for being a bust or not, you're essentially calling 99% of all college players busts. but by all means troll away

Not yet. It's up to him.

Had a very solid rookie year followed by an injury riddled year and attitude problems. Then again he running behind a crappy offensive line and he can't seem to escape being paired with erratic to awful quarterback play.

Fornette didn't do anything but run up yards on bad defenses. He looked like a clown against Alabama. It was embarrassing.

You realize if you are an elite Running Back this doesn't matter? Plenty of NFL RB's have had crappy lines and still run for a ton of yards.

So far? Yes, no doubt.

Saints should re-sign Ingram and stay the hell away from that unstable hype-train.

That's what happens when people have been telling you you're a generational back since you were 14.

who told him that lie? people from Louisiana. y'all should've done right by one of your own and told him the truth - you are a very good player who will probably be special, but not elite, in college. you'll be rich one day. if you work really hard, you can stay rich. if you don't, you can come home to the boot and make a living working for some tiger fan who is willing to give you a job since you "stayed home".

He lacks the vision necessary to be an elite NFL back.

you serious clark? The national media was hyping him as the next Adrian Peterson since his freshman year of high school. The "People from Louisiana" didn't make him the #1 recruit in the country. Saban and the Alabama fans wanted him plenty, everyone did.

This is interesting. It almost hurt him being so big and powerful in high school and college. He never had to develop vision.

Absolutely true, but I didn't see/read/hear any Bama fans call him a generational back. And I'm pretty sure Saban gave him the same "we'll win with you or without you" speech that Julio said he got when being recruited.

First of all that is bullshite.
Secondly, the Jags offense sucks and particularly their passing offense.
When the defenses don't respect the passing game they can stack the box. Bortles is arse and their WR corp aren't exactly all Pro's.
Regardless, Fournette missed 7 games this year. Like I said, too early to determine.

This was a big part of Trent Richardson's problem. Physical specimen who flamed out once he wasn't the biggest baddest guy on the field. Never really learned how to be a RB.

But that's not what you said. You asked who called him a generational back and insinuated it was "people from Louisiana."

Meet the Next Adrian Peterson: No. 1 Recruit Leonard Fournette

LINK

quote:

Sometimes compared to Adrian Peterson, Fournette isn't a high-effort runner like AD -- everything looks like it comes much too easily for him on the football field. He's just that good, and could walk on to any college campus and immediately contribute right now, months away from National Signing Day for the 2014 class.

LINK

quote:

Comparisons have been made to Adrian Peterson, which pretty well sets the bar as high as it can go. Peterson is the best college running back I've ever seen in person, and after seeing him in summer 7-on-7 drills, Magee says it's an accurate comparison for Fournette.

LINK

quote:

Fournette, 19, was the top-rated recruit in the class of 2014, according to ESPN and 247Sports.com. He is the most highly touted LSU signee of all-time and has drawn comparisons to Adrian Peterson for his size, speed and athleticism. Peterson even watched clips of the running back at the Minnesota Vikings' training facility last fall before uttering one word: Wow. Expectations for Fournette have been lofty since he was a pre-teen. Now, he's ready to live up to them.

LINK

So whether you or "Alabama fans" felt the same way, that wasn't the question you asked. You know good and well where those comparisons came from. The national media drooled over him for years when he was in high school. shite the Adrian Peterson comparisons were still made leading up to the draft. This isn't something concocted by the Louisiana media. The definitely fed into it (as did everyone else), but they certainly didn't create it.
