Is Lane Kiffin a good coach?

I keep hearing how this guy is a great head coach and he is an outstanding this and awesome that. But is he actually a good coach? What is there to back that claim up? Other than wants and wishes?

As an lsu fan I don’t know I just don’t see him getting us anywhere. I’m starting to question this guy

His replacement has 2 playoff wins while Lane has zero. His replacement has the head to head win over Lane also.

He's mediocre. A better coach than the one we have, but I still wouldn't trade our coach for him. He brings too much drama. We had our fill of that shite with Petrino.

Did you question him when he was bama's OC? Pre Coach Johnny Vaught, how many 10 win seasons did O. Miss have? Hate him as a person all you want, but knocking his coaching ability is either dumb & dumber or showing extreme bias.

Non trolling answer: I don’t think we really know.
I’ve seen a ton of LSU fans- perhaps the majority- who want to use the word “elite” to describe him. His resume simply doesn’t justify that claim. He’s got two CUSA titles to his name- that’s it.
However; he brings a lot of excitement and energy to a program, brings in great talent, and runs a very good offense. Some want to gloss over all that.
I think we will finally be able to answer this question after a few more years in BR.

He did not coach at elite schools..duh
Noone gas ever won at Southern Cal or Tenn. Now he is at LSU. Despite LSU not having as many natties..he will def win one there! Or 2...or 3...or even 4. The sky is the limit!
