Is Kiffin a poor or lazy recruiter?

I know Ole Miss has just 10 commits, but those in the pipeline aren’t going to help much.

He seems to rely on the transfer portal more than most.

No Kiffin doesn’t want to fill up a class full of guys he knows can’t play. Matt Luke, Hugh Freeze, and a lot of other coaches fill their classes with projects and non-power 5 guys that take 3-4 years to develop if they do ever pan out.
He’s taken the approach that we don’t need to take guys just to fill out a class. Take the best available that you know can play and work the portal for the others that have tape on the D-1 level that you can easily project into your offense/defense.
Portal is working for us and is more cost effective from an NIL standpoint instead of risking a ton of capital on someone that might never play significant role.

Really top heavy. He would go all in on a 5-star and if he missed he was SOL and would scramble to fill with a body

Lol, those were proven to have been the result of cheating. LOIC. The complaints were that yall were cheating, and they were proven to be warranted.
Maybe the guy you replied to should have clarified that you can't recruit well there WITHOUT cheating.

We might have the most talented 1-65 on our roster that we’ve ever had right now. We’ve missed on the big time high school qbs, but that’ll come.

Chris Kiffin was responsible for some of those Freeze recruiting classes. The guy was a superior recruiter.

Ole Miss absolutely seemed to hit with the transfer portal with kids that are eligible for this season.
For Auburn specifically, I have read they plan to utilize the transfer portal a good bit for the 2023 class.

Kiffin has pulled in top 18 classes in his first two years here. The transfer portal is changing how recruiting trail works, and he’s absolutely taken advantage of it so far. It’s also August and the season started one day ago. He’s earned the benefit of the doubt for not having a ton of commits right now.

It's August. I think Ole Miss is ranked in the top 15 in average star ranking and that's with an unranked JUCO player.

He was a very subpar talent evaluator who chased stars and rankings. The 2016 class was a top 10 class but was mostly a disaster outside of maybe 5 players because he was chasing stars.

Kiffin has ZERO loyalty to anyone but Kiffin. He works hard at conning his way to the next undeserved oppotunity. That is about it.
