Lsu pretty much couldn’t do it at the time.
Just for optics had to go a different route. Kiffin was still more a gamble then and Orgeron buddy. Still had maturity questions.
I love kiffin and think he would have been a perfect fit in br. Hope ole miss can keep him now but I bet Florida makes him a really hard offer to refuse

You and everybody else on this thread have no clue what jobs Kiffin considered or was considered for. Plus, Kiffin’s resume 2 years ago looked completely different than it does now.

He can’t name the SEC schools that actually reached out to interview Lane. But every opening, they start the “you guys want our coach” shite. Sexton has tried to get interviews at schools for Sexton, and was told no. He asked for Bama to call Lane, they didn’t even both. Reported by reputable recruiting beat writers on podcasts.
