Have you not paid any attention whatsoever to who we’ve added since 1992?

Arkansas & So Carolina
Texas A&M & Missouri
Texas & Oklahoma

What do they all have in common?

Big, State Universities that increase the footprint of the SEC.

Now…. Does anything about Houston represent that philosophy??????

This is the problem. Their football stadium is a glorified high school stadium. They have a great bball program but the fan support for football is pathetic.

this. No one outside of Texas and A&M grows the SEC footprint in Texas. If the SEC decides to grow I think they move east/northeast.

Oh yea nothing screams SEC like tailgating in an empty parking lot next to the 5th Ward.

I really like their team and their style of play and I would love to see them win tomorrow nigh. What Sampson has done there is nothing short of amazing. Sampson is also 69 years old. When he retires, they are going right back to being an average to above average basketball team and will still be irrelevant in football.

They are Texas State in a supersize metropolis. yet still rightfully carry the Cougar High moniker.

Personally, as I live in Houston, I would love to see them in the SEC.

AD and president both support FSU joining. We always did going back to the 60s.

How many people in Houston actually care about UH football though? Heck I bet there are more LSU fans in Houston than Cougs.

No. There are already too many teams.

That is how the Big 8 went from 8 to 12 and added more Texas schools and then it was horrible because there were way too many Texas schools and there would be votes that would favor the Texas schools. The Big 12 championship was at Kansas City then it was at Dallas. It did not even alternate between those two cities. Didn't you see why having more Texas schools will slowly change into their favor if you bring in more Texas schools. Just like the Big 12 all over again. No way I want to add more Texas teams to the SEC.

Very small amount compared to the size of the city. Houston is just not a college sports town. At all. If in some bazzaro world in which they were allowed in the SEC, their home games against Texas and Texas A&M would be 60/40 visitors. If they moved those games to NRG, it would be 75/25 Aggies or Horns. It would be close to similar when they played LSU

FSU is going to the Big10. I believe most of their insiders have indicated that over the past few weeks. A&M will probably jump too.

It sucks, but the BIG10 got the jump on the SEC on making a national conference. Our best hope is that recruiting holds up on talent in the SEC such that FSU, A&M, etc. struggle to compete because southeast kids don’t want to play games in the snow. But money talks, and A&M may go from 8&4 to 10&2 when playing a bunch of slow BIG10 teams (Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana) or soft west coast Big10 teams (UCLA, Washington, USC).

Sorry, but are you retarded? LSU recruits Houston heavily, just like we do.

Nailed it. No reason to be a prisoner of the moment here.

Not like Houston is a top 5 CBB all time program and they do not contribute much else to the conference (no new TVs, small Alumni base, small school, average academics)
