Day games in Tuscaloosa being hot as hades is not an unforeseen circumstance!
There are steps people can take to limit their chances of heat related illnesses.
Begin hydrating on Thursday. You can’t get enough fluid on Saturday to be hydrated enough for that game.
Don’t drink alcohol at least 24 hours before game and during game.
Wear loose and light colored clothing.
You could even take salt pills. My son was in MDB, they never took off their jackets except for 1 game, and would get 2 salt pills as they existed Stomp on the way to BD.
People aren’t helpless, they can take precautions.
Well, there you go Mamaof2. Now we are on the same page. Prepare for the worst. In a football stadium hotter than a pepper sprout and with no air circulating, you might just get it.

That’s what I have been saying this whole thread, personal responsibility! Rather than change college football, why don’t people just take care of themselves.
Hopefully you get it!

Hmm. I’m perplexed. I want to side with the it’s miserable and too damn hot crowd, but if I’m busting doves in the same weather…
Guess it depends on if you’re sitting in the shade. A dove field doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to sit there, just the common sense to find shade and set up there with your beer and gear.

You can add 10-20 degrees to the temps on the field.
The 2019 LSU vs Texas game was crazy hot.

Today was the fist day in the last 46 days that did not hit 100 F. That mass of concrete known as DKR is going to be hot as hell for a while, no matter how much cold air gets pumped into the locker rooms.
It will be nice to go to have these as fall conference games instead of early season , late summer non-conf games.
Completely agree w/ taking personal responsibility; if your body has been supersized for decades, better to watch the September games on TV.

Look, this heat stuff is getting dangerous.
Soft!! I can remember doing 2 a days in this type of heat. And not to mention had to walk to and from practice every day 2 miles each way. That’s 8 miles a day walking, and going through summer and selling work outs. They will be just fine. We didn’t have cooling fans like they have now on the sideline.

The hottest place on earth is Columbia South Carolina
Those 11am and 2:30 games are miserable

False it doesn’t cool down till atleast the 3rd week Sept… many schools will have kickoffs in the 100s this year .

I know I always laugh when people say September isn’t hot.
75% of the month is still summer
Most teams in the south will have three or four games in swamp arse weather.
The only redeeming quality is the days are getting shorter

We were at a Duke football game several years ago during an early season Saturday afternoon game.
I sat there pre-grame sweating my arse off thinking there's no way I can sit here in this oven for 4 hours. It felt over 100.
"Luckily", hundreds and hundreds of people suffered heat stress, and they sat up several triage locations. Somebody with us went through it, so we went to one of the triage places for a bit and went home after.
It was miserable. I can't handle the heat anymore.

NCAA and NFL - "We care about player safety"

Hey man if you can’t hang with the big boys just say that.

Totally on board. They won’t make changes until some kid ir coach dies from heat stroke. Southern games all need to be at night until mid late September.

94 is nothing
94 degrees and humid for an evening kickoff is absolutely something when you've been tailgating for 10 hours prior.
Not to mention for the actual players.

You laid out my plan for the 1st football Saturday perfectly.

I went to the bama UT game last year. Mind you this was in Austin, which is significantly less hot than say Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge or Oxford.
Sat in the UT student section. The way the stadium is set up for the student section, they get pretty boned being in direct sunlight the whole. I got there at 10, game started an hour or 2 later. I went out that night and you could look around and see all the sorry motherfrickers that had gone to the game. Everybody was a deep shade of lobster. Was pretty funny. I think I napped for like 5 hours after that game.
