Look, this heat stuff is getting dangerous. 110 heat index is common this summer and they are saying it's going to get even worse.

If any SEC Team is scheduled on the SEC Plus stations why not let them switch to night games? Fans are going to be swooning in the afternoon sun.

I agree. With all the emphasis on safety these days it seems heat exhaustion/stroke is not considered. Even the fans are at risk especially when the concessions run out of water by the end of the 1st quarter.

sect 313 in Sanford Stadium student section in the 90's were some of the hottest experiences in my life.

I don't know. I have been to an Alabama vs A&M Game in September and thought I was going to die (the excess booze probably didn't help). They even ran out of water at the place. This was the year they came to the conference I believe.

Every year the heat index seems to be climbing. This summer has been one for the ages. I can see these afternoon games being the survival of the fittest this year. Folks better have a good game plan.

If the conference wants afternoon kickoffs the first couple of weeks, then they need to help schedule OOC Classics type games in Domes. Keep the rest evening kickoffs with one or two 11AM games located in central time zone states.

every year you hear about fans being hospitalized from heat exhaustion.

you really think the networks truly give a shite about player safety? Disney doesn't actually care

Let’s hope not. This heat is unbearable.

One good thing about Covid is starting the season in late Sept. That was glorious.

No reason to play this early. North TX had 45 EMT calls yesterday for heat exhaustion with high school players

IIRC, Alabama's first two kicks are scheduled for 6p CST.

Just for giggles, I've been noting the conditions this week around that same time.

It's averaged about 94 degrees.

All control over kickoff times was ceded by the conference and respective schools' athletics departments to the TV networks. They will do everything to spread games out over the course of a day to maximize viewers. We are powerless to demand change. They say jump if you want a piece of this TV money, and we simply say "how high, boss?"

Yup. The cash is cold and that's all that matters.

What I was thinking too. Everywhere I go you can cut the humidity with a knife. With the crazy number of heat storms, almost every day around here, it's been a never-ending light show.

The hurricane season is going to be something else, unfortunately.

The good ole days of 1 pm at Auburn when you could ride down and back the same day are long gone.

I use to have season tickets. It got to where I was building my entire weekend around games. Now I just play golf and if the game is on when I finish I watch. This technique helped me avoid seeing the meltdown in 2021 against MSU.

Maybe Brother High can revive my spirit enough to go to a game again. Time will tell.

Since we are going 15-0 or 16-0 every year until 2035, I’ll save my treasure for the playoffs.
