It’s just as hot in Denver (96) as Birmingham today. Granted the humidity is lower. Lived in CO for ten years—finally put an a/c in. Neighbors were doing the same thing. “Ain’t like it used to be!”

It can get hot in Colorado but the difference is when the sun sets it drops 20 degrees and the lows are in the 50s and 60s

It’s so depressing when the low is 82 and muggy

Dude, have you ever thought about visiting hospitals and nursing homes? With that bedside manner, you would be a natural.

The truth hurts, I guess, because what I said is true. I'm not fat and can spend hours outside. We haven't had a single day over 100 yet in north Mississippi so it's not as hot of a summer for us as usual. Kind of funny seeing everyone else complain about the heat.

Nights are the reason I stay in Colorado. If it ever gets hot during the day (usually a week or two a year) I move down to the basement

No AC necessary unless you have a second floor in CO.

Unlike the frozen tundra you live in others have had incredible heat. With heat indexes well over a hundreds for days on end. It’s dangerous heat

Sounds nice but those blizzards from Oct to April don’t sound like something most of us would be interested in experiencing

Right but it JUST now has gotten consistently into the 90s the past two weeks. We had like 5 days above 90 throughout June and July

Doesn't compute. We rarely get whiteout conditions, and because of the lower humidity the snow is generally not wet and heavy. The only time it is cold is when the winds are blowing heavily. Once in awhile, it does get cold but that is what a fireplace is actually for.

I usually shovel or snow blow in a light jacket at most.

Look, this heat stuff is getting dangerous. 110 heat index is common this summer and they are saying it's going to get even worse.

If any SEC Team is scheduled on the SEC Plus stations why not let them switch to night games? Fans are going to be swooning in the afternoon sun.

Hopefully it'll cool down before college gamedays begin. Arkansas high school football starts this Friday, and we're already seeing kickoffs moving to as late as 9 PM.

I have a friend who lives in downtown Denver. Seems everytime we talk between Oct and April he is complaining about a blizzard. He’s from Charleston and I wouldn’t be surprised if he comes back once he retires

The closer to the Rocky Mts. you get and it's winter. I've been knee-deep in snow on Pike's Peak and Rockie Mountain National Park in the summer. Different world.

But you also have the Great Sand Dunes below Royal Gorge Bridge area.

If he's from Charleston, I'm pretty certain he hates the snow. I grew up all around the South, and I'd rather deal with the snow any time than the heat in Texas. As somebody earlier said, the way things cool down in Colorado at night is the difference. If you have to live in the South, at least the coast can provide a cool breeze.

Charleston has great weather.

The hurricane season is going to be something else, unfortunately.

Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season

Squalls out on the gulf stream
Big storm commin' soon
Passed out in my hammock
God, I slept till way past noon
Stood up and tried to focus
I hoped I wouldn't have to move far
Sure could use a bloody mary
So I stumbled over to Loui's back yard

And now I must confess
I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane
Think I hurt my brain
But it cleans me out, then I can go on

There's somthing 'bout this Sunday
It's the most peculiar gray
Strollin' down the avenue that's known as A1A
Feelin tired, then I got inspired
I knew it wouldn't last long
So all alone I walked back home
Sat on the beach and there I made up this song

And now I must confess
I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane
Think I hurt my brain
But it cleans me out, then I can go on

Well the wind is blowin' harder now
Fifty knots or there abouts
There's white caps on the ocean
And I'm watchin' for water spouts
It's time to close the shutters
It's time to go inside
In a week I'll be in gay par-ey
Hell that's a mighty long airplane ride

And now I must confess
I could use some rest
I can't run at this pace very long
Yes it's quite insane
Think I hurt my brain
But it cleans me out, then I can go on
Yes it cleans me out, then I can go on

It's a lot like the gulf states in the summer though. Tons of humidity. Lots of mosquitoes, too.

I can think of better weather. Atlanta gets hot but is comfortable in the morning. Charleston in July is just swamp.

They will carry on. We have had several high school scrimmages already with the temps in the triple digits even at night. Once the sun set a bit, everyone just drank water and enjoyed the show and no one really complained.

Booze related dehydration is the biggest threat I would think.

I can too. All along the Caribbean when it isn't hurricane season. I can handle the heat with a nice cool breeze at the beach. The weather in CA along the coast is usually hard to beat as well. Hawaii, when the island isn't on fire ...

Every place has its problems. Even in CO we have to deal with the occasional freeze or wildfire.

We reached actual recorded temps is 112 last weekend. It is getting so much objectively hotter each year. I don’t see how afternoon games will be tolerable for players or fans. It doesn’t drop below 100 here until after 7 pm most days

Thank goodness these oil folks don’t take summers off (or winters for that matter) so we can all drive our SUVs and big trucks.
