I think at this point it is obvious that it is not the coaching staff making the decision where Perkins. We all are aware of his strengths. This has to be a decision made by Perkins and his family. Either way he is a great football player
? He's played 3 different positions here, all of which were discussed by the coaching staff in the pre-season and throughout the season.

Count me as an LSU fan stoked about the 2026 Tiger defense.

Surely one of you posting here will be the next defensive coordinator since you are so much smarter that Blake Baker.

When he was a freshman I thought he was going to terrorize the SEC. Turns out he has only terrorized LSU.

So, he’s done it more than 2-3 games before

You think the players and their families, not the coaching staff, are deciding on the defensive scheme?

Perkins was great in 2022, but then teams started to scheme for him. He had 3 sacks against Arkansas and did not have another sack until the bowl game against Purdue.

He had that one game against a back up qb, who shouldn’t even have been a qb but he was pretty fast, then all of a sudden he’s a heisman candidate. He didn’t pee a drop from then on but everyone hung his hat on that one game.

I remember when Kenny trill was in the heisman talk after a big game against a weak Arkansas defense, we are the heisman makers…….haha.

I think that if you and I can see what Perkins is best at then the coaches can as well

In the NIL world I actually do think that is the case. I think he wants to play in the middle and that is why they keep trying him in the middle.

I don’t know much about the Star position at LSU.

He will blitz, he will cover and he will roam

Then what the heck happened last year? This same topic came up last summer when they moved Perkins.

They already had Major Burns at Star however Perkins was starting to get snaps at Star until he got injured.

All last summer you guys talked up Perkins being moved inside. Some folks said that wasn’t going to work based on how he did when people lined up and ran right at him when he was outside.

Now you are saying Perkins moved inside because LSU already had Major Burns at the real position the staff wanted to move Perkins to? C’mon sidewalk.

There will likely be a two to three game stretch midseason where the question will be “is Harold Perkins still playing?” That has been his MO every other season.
