Yeah this year was bad but a lot of it was things snowballing. Our talent level isn’t all that bad overall. Biggest issue is our guys are not physical which in football is a big issue haha.

Just a change in toughness would improve us by 4 games. Not saying we will go 10-2 or anything but we aren’t as far behind as everybody thinks.

Y’all lost big to the healthy Auburn team though. Important facts are important.

Won bigly in the game that mattered. That's a much more important fact.

This is such a stupid line. Both games mattered.

UGA loses a ton of senior players.

Well, if Smart keeps recruiting like this, I doubt there will be any drop off in about two years.

I think the chances for next years SEC champion are

40% Alabama
30% Georgia
30% Everyone else

Until Bama loses multiple SEC games in back to back years it is stupid to pick against them.

One mattered more than the other.

11-4 against the East. Yep, very weak. Only improved on game from last year's 10-5 mark.

I think UGA will take a step back next year. Still the favorite in the east though.

Offense should be improved. Defense will be different schematically (most likely a dropoff).

The key to being successful long term will be how Kirby replaces coaches leaving.

Agreed. We had a little scare with Tennessee flirting with Mel Tucker. That will repeat next season. I don't see anyone beating down the doors to promote Chaney. But I'm sure the raises will be on his doorstep to keep him.

I’ll be interested to see if Kirby is at successful at recruiting 5 stars every year at positions that are 3 deep with star recruits already. Saban was able to do it but not everybody is Saban.

We have 1 thing that Saban doesn't have. Selling recruits on staying home and winning for UGA. We really are a sleeping giant (population and fan support). We won't keep all the top talent instate. But recruiting at a clip of 75% and filling around that with out of state is enough to remain top 5 in the country. Keeping that at 90% will keep us in the top 3 in the country (not likely every year).

It's never that easy year-in and year-out in the SEC nor will it continue to be easy in the SECe. The SECe is going to continue to get better ... it will be no more of a cakewalk for UGA than the West has been for Bama.

Only South Carolina fans would believe the East has been no more of a cakewalk than the West .

I thought UG was the favorite to win the East every year? Just don't always work out that way because you still have to play the games.

I think this class will be a huge help but likely will need a year or two for the "majority" to see the field. It certainly fills the pipeline however.

UFL used to have a talent advantage on D back in 2013-16. Not anymore.
