To a team that lives and dies by the hurry up
Teams were faking injuries before A&M ran the spread no-huddle and I didn't hate it any less then.
The no huddle is a strategic offensive move. Faking injuries is a mindless last ditch effort from coaches who cant think of any better way to stop what an offense is doing.
Saying faking injuries is ok is like saying balks and goaltends should be legal in their respective sports.

Wait, which one was our super bowl again? Bama, lsu, and the piggies have all laid claim to it

Its no more a gimmick than the forward pass was at one point or the option.
And "faking it" is no more a gimmick than actually subbing guys out. All the hurry up serves to do is keep the defense from subbing. The "faking" phenomenon is no more than the defensive version of the hurry up.

it would be like a TO, no need to fall down just signal the ref. "hey ref blow a fake penalty substitution." Cool.
When players start faking injuries against non-hurry up offenses, you'll have a point.

It is brilliant. Unfortunately, that's not what the hurry up is. It's an offensive strategy used to gain an advantage. UGA uses it, Auburn used it with Cam Newton. If less talented teams want to use it to make up for their deficits then that's fine too. But I would expect defenses to keep on using any means necessary to neutralize the attack.

Not the sole purpose. Main purpose is to push the pace and tire out a defense by volume of plays run.

By making it near impossible for a defense to sub in fresh legs.

Nope. Refs can stand over the ball until a defense substitutes. If the offense is conditioned to not need to use the entire playclock, then more plays will still be run.

We'll take their application for rivalship under advisement.

That time is not long enough. I don't care what team it is.

Many Bama posters here have said that they openly acknowledge that the LSU game is bigger to them now. I can understand that the hate isn't as strong. I'd rather Alabama win the NC five times in a row than Ole miss or Tulane

Then condition your defense better. Tough titty.
And for the record, that's what a&m had to do in '12 after get HUNHed to death by the likes of oklahoma state.

Faking and injury is I'm sure not legal. Enforcement may be issue.
Do you think a coach could go up to a ref like with a TO and get him ready (they do this to those that never played)
Hey ref after this play we are going to fake an injury immediately after the play so be ready for the whistle.
What do you think the refs response would be?
Im dumber for having read some posts on here. This a low - even for the Rant. Faking injuries being defended and likened to part of the game.
Its amazing what some will say if you inch them out on the tree limb one at a time.
Where the hell is my goat Dude

I'll see what I can do. Between them, arky, and SC, there's a lot of paperwork to consider.
