Auburn lost a lot of key players from last year.

This.

I believe they only returned 5 starters. Newton, Fairley and 15 other starters from last year are gone.

I believe LSU returned 15 starters this year.

Muschamp improved them to an extent.

I think you'll find the opposite.
Chizik to Muschamp @ AU = worse defensive stats
Chizik to Muschamp @ TX = worse defensive stats

I could be wrong, but I think I read that once. (not googling so GFY)

Chizik will have to win one without Cam Newton to really get any credit. Just like Les has to win without "Saban's Players".

Personally i don't think he is that good at coaching. I think he would have a losing SEC record without Cam newton, and Newton and Fairly dragged them to the championship. Les at least had a winning record OSU, Chisik was 5-19 at ISU. Also Les has had 4 10+ win seasons at LSU.

Actually Chizik should and will get a ton of credit for his coaching job this year if he wins 8+ games this year after losing 30 players and playing as many young guys as he has.

If they win seven games, he's done a hell of a job.

It should tell you that LSU's worst team still didn't get smashed by Auburn's best team. You should hope to be competitive in down years. To completely discount it may be a mistake.

Wait. How was 2004 LSU's worst team since 2000? LSU was a Hail Mary pass away from going 10-2 that year. Have you forgotten 2008?

Nop he wont. That would mean some people would have to step up and say they were wrong.

Wont happen.

Yes. Along with the fact that 40 of last years players are not on this years team.

good lord, we played one of the best LSU squads ever with a team that is more than half freshman. youre a fricking moron if u base anything off that one game.

This isn't exactly a novel concept.

Lots of people said it when he first showed up, that he wouldn't amount to much.

He lucked out and got a QB that can carry even NFL teams by himself, and rode him to the national championship.

Doesn't mean he can sustain it.

More credit to his assistants than him. The fact that you are even struggling this badly in year three is a testament to your head coach. Hell, you were even struggling in pretty much every single game last year WITH Cam Newton. Now I know a win is a win, no matter how ugly they are, but I feel for your hearts because the cardiac arrest that team has been putting you through for three years would have killed me by now.

Without Cam Newton last year you were an 8 or 9 win team again. I know you can't take that away, but put in your average Joe QB behind that veteran offensive line and you wouldn't have had the same success you did with Cam.

Why should I have credit to Gene Chizik for that national championship when his Heisman-winning QB from last year is carrying the Carolina Panthers in the NFL practically all by himself?

BTW- Saban had the same number of losses at this point at Alabama that Chiz has at AU. And fewer national championships.

You dont. It wont matter what happens, you will spin it in your direction.

One day it is because of Cam

One day it is because of all the seniors

One day it is because of a great offensive line

One day it is because of Gus

One day it is because we lucked up in so many games

It is always going to be every single reason other than the fact that Gene Chizik assembled a very good coaching staff, recruited very good players, held the team together through more of a shite storm than any other SEC coach in the past 15 years and won every game through the BCS National Championship.

Its always going to be something else.

So I don't expect you too give him any credit. He really did nothing.

True.

In fact Chiz has ALREADY exceeded expectations this year. The "experts" in vegas had the win total at 4.5. AU was not predicted to make a bowl game either.

Lets see. Three years at AU...

2009: Not expected to get to a bowl game coming off a losing season and a brand new staff. Expectations were 4 wins. Result? 8 wins and New Years day bowl. Followed by a top 5 recruiting class. Yep. Chiz sucks without Cam.

2010: National Champs. Undefeated. Top 5 recruiting class. Yep, Chiz sucks with talent.

2011: So far so good. Expected to win 5 games or less. Already with 5 wins and October is not even over. Recruiting on track for a third straight top 5 or possibly top 10 class. Chiz is still sucking-arse.

Bottom line: Rantards are genious!! Lets fire Chizik!! He sucks!!

Why should saban be considered a good coach. After all, he only wins because he has great players (see 2007).

Nice logic huh?
