It was against Ole Miss, MS ST, Auburn, and Georgia. If it wasn't for that first half quarterback for Georgia it would have been a blow out

The Hogs have the hardest schedule in the country.

Missing 4-5 starters each game and about the same number of second teamers. Starting 2-3 walk ons and playing several more. What would he do with a full team. As to the question. So far a resounding YES.

He’s the best coordinator on either side of the ball.

Odom already turned down LSU last offseason but yes, if an NFL job came open I’m sure it would be hard to keep him.

BO may prove to be a good DC.

However, as a Head Coaach

He did pretty good at Missouri. Nick Saban couldn't make that program relevant.

Kentucky has allowed 7 points in the last two games.

I’d say that’s pretty impressive considering it’s SEC only.

I must admit, he did prove he could reliably beat one team . . .

Missouri got blown out by top team when Barry Odom was the HC. Also he couldn't beat Wyoming last year!

You seem to consistently confuse the fact that we hired Barry Odom to be our DC and not HC.

Odom/Pittman are best friends IRL, Odom ain't going anywhere. Not this year at least.

Friendship is one thing. A multi-million dollar a year raise is something else.

I don't agree that the turnovers we're getting are "luck". We're being coached to be in the right place at the right time and catching the ball when it gets there. It would take a blind man to not be able to see the vast improvements the Hogs have made on defense. They're rushing 3, dropping 8 and still getting enough pressure. When you drop 8 you're going to have better coverage IE pick more passes off. It's all by design.

Barry is a solid DC. When he took over from Steckel MU's defense went from 20th in the nation to 5th (points allowed). It was, therefore, quite a surprise that when he ascended to HC in 2016 his defense dropped to 89th (118th in yards allowed) but he had turned the D over to DeMontie Cross, which proved to be a mistake. Even taking back the DC responsibilities mid-year was of little help.

I think BO is a good dude and I wish him well. I always thought the game moved a little too fast for him on game day in the HC role though. Maybe someday he will catch up, but I think for now and the foreseeable future he is in the role best suited for him.

Agreed. He’s a much better DC and he’ll be making $2M before too long. Don’t see him making a jump UNLESS it’s just something he can’t turn down

I would have love to have him be our DC, but I think we all can agree he wasn’t a good HC.
