Bench McElroy just picked you to be on his team. The dodgeball game will begin shortly.

As an LSU fan I would say that Bama is not a "rival". When Bama was mediocre beating Bama did not elicit any special response from me or anyone that I know. At that time Auburn was usually a huge game, the nature of being an LSU fan since 2002 is that there are always big games but the opponents change.

Yes! A million times yes.And its getting to be a bigger rivalry than the Iron Bowl.

At least LSU gives a shite about the quality of their football.

Don't pay any mind to the buttmunch element.

Welcome aboard.

Traditional "rivalries" won't mean much in this hunt, folks. Like it or not, Bama-LSU is gonna be pretty damn important- AGAIN.

I don't think you understand. If we beat LSU, I am happy. The score is not very important as long as we get the W. I see them as nothing more than a roadblock to another championship. Are they the only team that isn't scared of Alabama? Sure. That doesn't make them a rival.

As far as that team with the puke inside of a pumpkin orange, I want to crush them so bad that they reconsider having a football team. If we are up by 100 points, it is not enough. I want us to go for it on every 4th down and 2 point conversion so that they lose all hope. To me, the perfect score is Alabama 69, UT 0 mostly for the hilarity of it.

We hate Auburn because we have to, we hate Tennessee because we want to.

Saban called lsu vs bama a rivalry a few weeks ago in one of his press conferences. Rivalries start from somewhere--the series we have had the last several years has essetially changed the playoff structure of college football. To me, even though LSU and Bama may not have a historical rivalry, if both programs continue to play at their current level, the routine national championship implications will naturally cause the rivalry to occur.

I will say I hate Auburn then, UT and LSU

LSU/A&M won't pick up steam for a while unless Mike kills the collie this year

It is a natural rivalry with a lot of meaning to the older fans - it just needs some time to return to being considered important by the younger fans (anyone born after the late 80s). If A&M beats LSU to ruin our season one year or there's some controversial plays it will happen faster.

A&M/Arky, A&M/LSU will both be meaningful series in the future of the SEC. I think Arky/MU will also develop into something good

UT/Bama is historic as well as the Iron Bowl, everyone can agree those are two huge rivalrys!
Just because LSU and Bama are the two juggernauts of college football doesn't make it a bigger rivalry or even a rivalry. If it wasn't for Saban leaving LSU and then coming back to Bama, they would just be 2 juggernauts that don't like eachother cause theyre just as good, especially in recent years. it's always a good game though. but come back and repost this in 10-15 years, then we'll talk.

I'm really surprised to see how many Bama fans claim to hate UT more than Auburn. I've always felt there is no more hatred in all of sports than that between Auburn and Alabama.

I doubt too many people actually feel that way. A lot say it to get under the skin of Auburn fans

I dont get the comparisons to Florida on the rivalry "status". LSU and Bama are in the same division and have played EVERY year since they split the conference in two divisions. Much different scenario than Florida.
