The most chicken shite move in the history of CFB was when A&M wouldn't come out of the locker room @ halftime down 30+ to Texas and forfeited the game.

It’s one sided as frick. The only thing LSU obsesses over more, and has a bigger inferiority complex over than A&M is Alabama.
Sad.
Not in this Century
And at least we admit it instead of being a bitch

I wouldn’t say it was LSU’s main rival- but there is a history between the two schools - pre aggie SEC and back in old SWC days. The LA /TX border is a lot more traversed than LA/Ark. Lot of lsu folks in Houston/ Dallas- many aggies would do tours in Lafayette /sport due to oilfield. The oilfield holds that common bond as well.
Say all that to say as far as forced rivalries go - aggie fits lsu better than Ark by far.
Regarding bama- before Saban - the idea was usually didn’t really hate bama just hated losing to them. Hell- auburn was the rivalry of the week in late 90’s early 2000’s.
We just don’t have a pure rivalry like everyone else does. Each team we consider a semi rivalry - has a stronger one elsewhere.
But besides all that - geaux to hell ole miss!

This board doesn’t determine historical rivalries my friend

Not how it works. You're still 3-9 since 2011. Vacated wins, but no vacated losses. SMH

LSU doesn’t have a “main rival” IMO… but they are probably a major rival to more teams than just about any other.
Very good perspective actually. I agree

LSU has no main rival or real rival at all. People will tell you it was Tulane, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, Arkansas, Alabama and A&M. We’ve played State the most and that really hasn’t been a competitive series. I’ve even heard people say that Rice was a rival.

So you have no idea of this game? In front of every made up aggy tradition are two based on fact and not the stuff you stock trophy cases with.
And get off your fat arse and try that Google machine.. show us how smarts youse is.

Alabama- LSU is a major rival to them, but is #3 behind Auburn and Tennessee Auburn- LSU is a major rival but they are #3 behind Bama and Georgia… were 4th behind UF as well and might still be viewed that way for some of the old timers. Ole Miss- LSU is their #2 rival behind MSU Texas A&M- LSU is #2 behind Texas Miss St- Not sure where they stand but I’d guess # 3 behind Ole Miss and Bama Arkansas- this is the only one I’m not sure about. Had Aggie or Texas never joined the league I’d guess most Arkansas fans would say LSU was their #1 by now. But A&M might be a bigger rival now and I suspect Texas will be #1 after they’ve been in the league for a few years. Florida- probably #3 behind FSU and Georgia? Historically I think Auburn may have been #3 for a time. Tennessee could have been #3 for awhile when that game was a big deal. I’d guess LSU is likely #3 now.
Summed up the best. Crazy that’s it’s an Auburn fan. I’ve thought about this for a while over years. Been watching LSU football for 30 years that I can remember. Our rivals change. What I’ve gathered is whoever is our biggest threat to win the SEC. That’s our rival.

Hey Cuz,
The SEC has tried to force us to be rivals because we were causing bama too much shite. By finally letting them win a game with bs calls in 7 OT etc .
That said, they are a weird gay cult and we will gladly give them back to you guys next year. We have some experience with weird but limited experiences with openly flaming gay, (not that there is anything wrong with that), or Cults so please please take them back as a rival

I grew up watching and attending LSU games as a kid in the early '80s. From my personal perspective, A&M has always felt like our truest rival. You could never go too long without someone making an Aggie joke. We opened our season with the Aggie game. How we faired in that game seemed like a bellwhether for how good our team would be that season.
And, yes, if we're being honest, A&M was removed from the season opener because A&M was kicking our arse annually while our program was down.
Maybe because I wasn't around during the 1950s, I never much cared about Ole Miss. Neither I nor anyone I knew gave two shits about Arkansas. Auburn became a close second rival because of the craziness and importance of the games. Alabama was Alabama. Everyone gave them their best shot.

It's probably a product of what decade you were in your 20s. Florida stomped our arse repeatedly in the 90s, so students of that era hate them.
Arkansas has *repeatedly* fricked us out of good bowls by playing above their pay grade in the 2000s, and until A&M graced us with their gayness, it was always the last game of the season. From the Sugar Bowl to the Independence Bowl, courtesy of Arky, in 60 minutes. However, their fans are nice people in general, which makes it very hard to have rival level vitriol.

Your honesty is refreshing. Again, LSU canceling that series sent their program into a much much better place
