How about the BIG and SEC shite or get off the pot.
Break away from the NCAA and make your own governing body. Invite some ACC teams, invite a few other teams as well. Tell ND to join the league or get left out.
Then there will be equitable scheduling and no more teams getting 1 or 2 tough games a year and coasting to an unearned playoff spot.

quote:No, that has already CLEARLY been settled. In the last 25 years, the SEC has 14 Natties (16 if you include TX and OK) the BIG has 4. SEC had 5 different teams win (7 with TX/OK) and the BIG had only 2.
We could settle the "best conference" claim once and for all.

yeah that's true but it would be fun to shut them up every year.

Are these teams part of the new group?
GT (UGA)
FSU (Florida)
Clemson (SC)
Louisville (Kentucky)
If not, what happens to those annual rivalries?

NOT REALLY when the 1st p/o format eliminated, at least, 1 conference from participating.

Hince why conf. games should be an even #.
But then who you must play (annual rivalries) come into consideration.
So, it’s like our state hs athletic group’s dilemma: what helps S. Ga. hurts N. Ga. & vice versa.

ASU bsu Clemson are conference champs, at a certain point you can’t have a true playoff without them. If that’s the case kill the playoffs let big champ play the sec champ and call it a day.
We did just fine for all those BCS years, and winning or even playing in a conference championship game was not mandatory. (See BAMA and Ohio State.) College Football did just fine for 10 years of the 4-team playoff without CCG winners or participants. (see BAMA and Georgia)
The reason, under the BCS, they only cared about the 2 BEST teams and everyone else be damned, including CCG winners. Under the 4-team playoff, the committee only cared about the 4 BEST teams and everyone else be damned.
Here's a novel idea: let's have the Playoff Committee pick the 12 BEST teams and everyone else be damned. Why, it will suddenly be just like it has always been.

Yeah man. Six straight big 12 titles by OU to end the 2010s was a struggle. Lmao get out of here.

It’s not a novel idea. You say the bcs worked just fine, it didn’t(lsu/usc 03 or barn/usc 04). both games were a catalyst for a four team playoff. Also D1 is too big to properly determine who the best 12 are it’s very subjective. If you truly think the schedule is that much tougher separate from the week conferences. Quit the bs gate keeping with the I failed a harder test than they passed argument. I get it’s easy to sit on your couch and decide the mtn west or Mac champ didn’t put in work but they’re D1 too, that’s the division they’re in and to eliminate them before the playoffs start is crap. Separate or give them their shot.

If we add a Big-10 team to the conference schedule for each team...let's play them in August.

Instead add a big 10 opponent to every SEC teams schedule every year.
It is stupid, why do you think the B1G wont agree to 11+5 unless we also play 9? They arent going to agree to OOC scheduling with us if we play 8 conf + them and they play 9 conf + us
LSU, USC, Florida, and UGA routinely schedule 10 P4 games. Time for the rest of the SEC to step up. Yall are making us look cowardly for not wanting to play the same number of conference games as the B1G

Needs to be 9 conference games and no fcs schools on the schedule. Nobody wants to watch that crap.

Maybe, maybe not.
At some point everything evolves and some old rivalries may be lost.

Two Mizzou/Illinois games were recently cancelled. Not sure why, but I wish they would have kept them.

Sack up and play 9 games. If the schedule is truly terrifying like all of you say it is, then the CFP committee will give benefit of the doubt to extra losses

Would love for UK to play Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State and Maryland. We need to expand our recruiting into those states.
