The latter got a serious wake up call vs Miss St and I think their defense will be well nigh impenetrable on Saturday.

I don't think that was a wake up call.

If Alabama takes the field 10 times with their current squad and injuries at Mississippi State, the majority of the time it's going to be that type of tight game.

I don't even think Auburn will be that big of an underdog. Probably under a touchdown dog

Then you seriously think Auburn doesn't have a chance? After what we did to Georgia? And add the fact that the game is in Jordan Hare, I'd say we have a decent shot at winning. Maybe 45%.

Have you watched us this year? Our defense is good enough to keep us in the game with anybody.

if you don't think Auburn has a chance against Alabama then you just aren't paying attention.

It's funny. I have not gone back to read who said what. Georgia has been crushed by most on this board. Not a good team. Would finish 4th or so in the east. Has beaten nobody any good. Now on this thread beating Georgia twice is a gigantic accomplishment worthy of a playoff bid. I'm not being an arse. Just funny to read everything and how different it is. I think in your scenario Clemson would need to beat Miami. That would be the best case. A great win over #1 Bama and then #1 Uga and a great loss to maybe 1 Clemson. Lsu keeps winning and gets to 12-13. Uga finishing around 8-9. That's a strong resume

You don't want to beat those frickers and have to play them again.

REC goes to DEFCON1. Not pretty.

If AU beats us in the Iron Bowl CU and Miami will be 1 & 2 for championship weekend. I expect Wisc and OU round out the top 4 with AU at 5 depending on how far they jump this week. But if that happens and the CU/Miami game is close in CU favor I would not be surprised to see a 2 loss SEC champ get left out.

It's not even the LB corp at this point the DL is terrible. The lack of NFL talent is astounding. Payne can't do it all and honestly tell me what game he has dominated this year.

what would happen if the rankings were where they could meet each other in the final. I would take the loss in that one just to see the nation melt. Especially LSU fandom and Danny Kanell.

The Melt from LSU would be epic. "We should actually be Champs because we beat Auburn, on there way to 7-5 next year.

the playoff rankings after championship week look like this 1. Clemson/Miami 2. Oklahoma 3. Auburn 4. Alabama Auburn and Bama win their semifinals. Iron Bowl rematch for it all. The entire state would just implode Edit: I do not think this scenario happens people. It's just a fun hypothetical.

Someone on the Auburn board posted something very similar to this happening how it would be the ultimate woody ever!!

I wouldn't say it's automatic, but Bama's entire starting LB corps is out.

Along those same lines what happens if Auburn beats Alabama and then loses to Georgia in the SEC championship game? Does the sec get knocked out of the playoffs entirely?
