For this to work, Wisconsin needs to drop a game. They have Michigan and most likely Ohio State left to play.

Auburn beats Alabama at home in a very close game. Let's say 28 24. Auburn then goes on to beat Georgia in the sec championship game, sending Auburn to the playoff.

With the Wisconsin loss, the playoff rankings after championship week look like this

1. Clemson/Miami
2. Oklahoma
3. Auburn
4. Alabama

Auburn and Bama win their semifinals. Iron Bowl rematch for it all.

The entire state would just implode

Edit: I do not think this scenario happens people. It's just a fun hypothetical.

I wouldn't say it's automatic, but Bama's entire starting LB corps is out.

It's more likely than you may think.

Also likely just for fun really.

What's so funny? I'm not predicting Auburn beats Alabama. This is just a possible scenario.

If you don't think Auburn has a shot at Alabama you're just delusional

or a troll. Can't tell

Don't sleep on Bama's front 7. Yes they are injured, but states OL is playing as well as any in the country right now. They are still Bama and not many, of any, other teams can run the ball on them like we did last night.

Another one to ponder. Assume an Auburn close win over Bama and UGA, and a close Clemson loss to Miami. Is it possible that Clemson gets in over Auburn because of head to head? I would not think so, but....

Can you imagine if this happened and Alabama 1/9/12ed Auburn in the championship game? Holy shite. The state would burn. God that would be awesome. I would take an IB loss right now if I could be assured of that outcome.

What’s even more funny is that Wisconsin might end up in the playoffs.

Was just thinking that. It would be very hard to argue against them..

The best argument would be that it was at Clemson, early in the season, and a very close game. Auburn's three victories over Bama and Georgia would be the best in the nation. Also combine that with the fact they lost to Syracuse.

OK chuckles.

All the amazing games we would have to play to finish the year only to lose to Alabama that would be awful

Edit: Conversely, Auburn beats Alabama again. To go 4-0 against Georgia and Alabama in one year and win it all.. you can just go ahead and shut down the program. Couldn't possibly get better than that.

Gotta give you a Tiger Eagles credit, you have nutted up the playoff chase now for sure, after a Saturday.

Yea, I don't think a good Auburn team beats Bama. The latter got a serious wake up call vs Miss St and I think their defense will be well nigh impenetrable on Saturday.

I'm actually fairly hopeful for our run game against Bama, considering what we did to Georgia and Alabama's injuries.

It's the pass game that will decide it. I said Georgia would win if they could get pressure on Stidham.. I guess I didn't know we would be that successful on the ground.

But, if Bama can pressure Stidham and get him rattled, maybe throw an int, it's Bama's game. They have too many weapons on special teams/ offense that if we can't get the occasional deep ball going we won't win.
