All I’ve been seeing about Indiana’s schedule for next year is they have to play Ohio State and Michigan back to back. They act like that is such a tough stretch. LSU played four or 5 ranked teams in a row.

FSU
Kentucky

Mississippi State
Georgia
Texas A&M
LSU
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Auburn

The 5 game stretch between October 10th & November 14th is tougher than anything Indiana has ever seen.

The state university of ohio has failed you. Yes, because 18-12 = 6. The top 6 teams by conference rankings are : Indiana, the state university of ohio, Oregon, Michigan, USC, Iowa.

The rest of the teams are 5-4 or worse, thats 12 teams. Muh Bowl Games!!!!!! No one cares, osu lost their bowl game, does that mean the ACC is better than the majority of the b1g? No, it doesn't and unlike you losers I don't deal in absolutes. In fact I believe osu is better than Miami, but it just wasnt their night.

3/4 of the conference is trash, Rutgers highest recruiting class EVER was #25. Florida is in the top 20 regularly. You can disguise cupcake level games any way that makes you happy.

Indiana has the formula now
Don't play anyone in non conf because it doesn't matter

I'm not really sure why the SEC is mandating teams play another power 4 team

No 2-10 Razorbacks to pad the Hoosiers schedule, so it looks legit.

We would have lost to Indiana by two points with an interception in field goal range. That's how our 2025 went nearly across the board. We were unironically one of the best games week in and out to neutral viewers

also, Arkansas and Alabama's' schedules are about the same. Only differences are that they play Utah, Texas and Missouri where we play FSU, Kentucky, and Miss. State.

Well they beat the dog mess out of Alabama so assuming they reload in the off season, easy schedule or not, I'd prefer to avoid Indiana.

IU likely wins either way this year but they broke the model for college football. I absolutely hate it but teams likeIUfigured outThere is simply too little data points and metrics for voters to not focus on W-L record as the main (and by a wide margin) ranking. How does IU do with Fl 2024 schedule? Or even a remotely decent top 20 schedule? Probably pepper a few Ls in their but they had nothing to lose and stacked Ws, then the recruiting, donors, NIL, etc will follow.

Didn’t Illinois beat up on Tennnesse and South Carolina! I’ll concede that half the big ten is garbage but let’s not act like the SEC isn’t full of dogshit teams like Allburnt, GatorBait and Tennessee. And that before getting to the bottom of the barrel. But any given weekend the bottom beats the top. SEC is full of trash and this is coming from someone who watches a ton of SEC football more then Big Ten football

You can only play the teams on your schedule

The main problem with this that the pundits never seem to discuss, either because they don't understand it or don't want to admit it, is the toll SOS and playing six teams coming off BYE weeks takes physically on your team.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt Alabama, Georgia, and other conference teams rolled into the postseason this year with significant attrition. Our QB wasn't even remotely the same. We started a 4th string RB in the SECCG and had over a dozen guys banged-up.

Remember when Georgia lost the CFP to ND last year because Carson Beck was out?

Everyone who has ever played sports understands this. And it's not going to change, because they designed this system to equally include teams in conferences that aren't equal.

The SEC was winning too much, and they changed the rules with NIL and the portal and automatic qualifiers, and now they've finally found a way to win.

How should we as a league counter all of this? I don't think making our schedules any harder is very smart.

Honestly, the SEC needs to stay at 8 SEC games.

These B1G teams at the top are very good plus they are usually spread out in their schedules to where they consistently play Purdue, Northwestern, Rutgers, Minnesota, Maryland, etc. and only play 3 tough in-conference teams at most. While I believe Indiana and Ohio St are top notch, the other decent teams like Oregon, Michigan, USC playing 9 B1G games is not the same as playing 8 SEC games.

Since they’ll begin the year ranked #1 their program is now in a position where a 10 win season would get them into a playoff too

Only took Cig a couple years to take a perennial loser and turn them into a CFP regular. Video game stuff

Indiana would have gone undefeated in the SEC.

It’s very possible, but they wouldn’t have been able to keep just 11 guys rotating on defense with 0 injuries. Just wouldn’t happen

OP might be genuinely retarded if he's comparing 'Bama's schedule from any season against Indiana's.

Community Note:
Bama had the #1 SOS in the country per FEI last year and plays 7 teams in 2026 who finished 2025 in the top 30 per FEI.
